I did a quick look and I'm amused by how some channels, like Big Dan Gaming, railed on how Dragon Age had become a game for fujoshi, etc but praised this game without seeming to notice that it too made some sweeping retcons to make fujoshi happy. i think the funniest or most infuriating thing depending on the day, is that no matter how moral or free or progressive some people will proclaim themselves to be, they will never actually have diversity, and they will never have truths.

you can't have diversity of people and opinion because, for example, dev a wants to make a realistic game about native americans. riding through the trees, comraderie, hunting, scenery, romance. native american lore and stories. maybe even hire actual native americans if possible sure, why not. but you can't do raids and pillages on random settlers, you can't show tribes killing and torturing each other, you can't show them having flaws. trail of tears, white man bad, and a laughably accepted mystical old man who says random one liners and sheds a single tear are golden though.

personally i'd be fine with a historically accurate muslim that talked about his culture's goods and ills, his faith in allah, comparisons to christianity and brothers under God, occasional culture shock shit like *he sees bare hair on love interest* "you let your woman parade as a whore in the street??" if a character was gay in the first as he mentioned (i didnt play it), sure you could develop something with him as a side thing or something interesting and kind of funny like a weird glance he shares with someone random walking by. not the main character suddenly gaining "youve a nice arse on you good sir" choices. if the main character was throughout explicitly gay struggling with his sexuality and trying to keep that shit hidden or they were dealing with things like alleged sodomy in the knights templar sure. or if it didn't deal with characters that could also be young/underage irl. and it didn't make the gay or muslim character a protected class because God forbid a gay or muslim token be evil, bad, maimed or killed.

So how does this character act in the game? When I played KCD1 I had some weird disconnect with Henry because he looks like he is in his 20s but acts like a teenager. I think the writers wrote characters to be younger than hastily aged them up in a later edit to better get around age ratings due to violence and sex.
