There is a lot of legitimately cool and interesting history in Africa to play with, but nobody wants to touch it because they will get canceled by the libs in the west for being somehow racist. Historically accurate Oblivion is the short of it. The gimmick is that it's a grounded medieval RPG and that's what it does well. It's janky and you're going to get your shit kicked in early game, but if you can get past that, yeah it's a decent RPG.

The dialogue is nothing like this in the first game. Characters talk like they would back in the day, in KCD2 every other line is either said to humiliate Henry or it's homo-erotic. The writing as a whole feels like it's for a modern movie game or a fucking Marvel movie at it's worst instead of a medieval RPG, and this would be very noticable even without the other woke elements.

If that’s your standard that’s fine. I can’t remember the last time I sat thru a sex scene in a video game I instaskip it I feel utterly pathetic watching a video game model act pornographic. Okay I’m lying here I did get a kick out of the lap dance minigame in GTAV, but that’s because that was a well designed distraction and funny to see the character try to pull off bad touches without being thrown out.

But regardless if homosexuality was to be in the game it should have served the story. Like Henry gets a quest from a merchant, the merchant’s son was arrested for sodomy. He offers Henry’s reward if he can get the son out of the jail or a lesser reward if Henry can grease the right hands to make it a slap on the wrist. That feels realistic within the premise and then you have player choice. Use stealth to do a prison break or complete a whole dialogue check to be an amateur medieval lawyer. Or let the sodomite get the punishment the Bible deems necessary.

That would be great, that’s what adventure games should aspire to in narrative. Kingdom Come and the Witcher games have moral dilemma quests like that which are fun to decide over.
