Underrated moment from yesterday. During his stream chess, Phil's stream was naturally dead silent and since he has the charisma of a rock then there were entire chunks of absolutely no sound. Someone suggests Phil to put some background music and his response was "I didn't prepare any music".
Motherfucker, what you mean "prepare"? You are already playing on a browser, you just open a new tab and search "free royalty music [genre]". Something so simple yet a content creator with 16 years of experience can't come up with something so simple, it's amazing how he has basically zero production value despite blowing +10k on toys for his setup. Just slap that one track from DK Country and you add x10 ambience to the stream, but he can't even do that right, or worse, he can't even bother trying.

Makes me wonder when will Phil discover background music and how he'll treat it like he discovered time travel.

There are a shitload of people with a wide range of elo earning their wages daily support streaming chess. You would think a >10 year Internet entertainment veteran would check out some chessstreams to get an idea how people make it work before his own stream.

But of course not Phil, he doesn't even brush up the oh so complicated rules of chess despite being a former chess club player according to himself. I bet he played as many semi-serious chess games as he built computers with his Elo of sub 200 including 2 wins by disconnects. But 10 min "speedchess" is just too demanding for old man Phil. The Internet standard is btw 5 min Blitz, 3 min +2s increments Blitz or 1 min Bullet (with or without 1 sec increments).

But I laughed a lot, he was worse than I expected. He probably would lose to his dents.

His streams are starting to become fever dreams. I watched some of the marathon mostly for Factorio and I think it was worth it.

Imagine getting a gaming PC to play a variety of games and you choose to cheap out and just play the demo, with a controller, and not even make it to inserters in a very handheld version mode of the game.

Just still thinking about his streams after processing them days after because I'm so befuddle watching them real time that my body shuts down and gets put into a stasis because of how absurd it has all become. Snack and Booze goals, the begging for it, the minimal gametime, the outrageous weird shit he does like inputting a new credit card to his amazon payment to buy a WWE game that he didn't even bother to play, and eating two big slices of $90 cake in under 10 minutes.

I'm just at loss of words nowadays.

His opponent is up 13 points. His only pieces left are pinned by the queen, and his pawns are in an awful position (triple stacked on the C file.) He's an annoying person? Not resigning in this position and forcing him to take all your shit while you waste your entire remaining time talking to chat is actually the real annoyance.

He will act like it is a massive improvement, but say that using YouTube or something for it is bad because it lags up his computers and ruins stream quality, even if it is a minimized background tab. He will tell his dents how he found a program online for background music that is a $59.99 monthly subscription, but the premium, and what he needs since he is a streamer, is the $119.99 version of the software. He will also buy an entirely second streamdeck just for background music because he finds a 2k lemon streamdeck that is plastered in RGBs.

I said this a few weeks ago but Phil is now Chris Chan but worse because with Chris (pre-mother fucking) there was this child-like innocence to him that was honestly funny. When you tuned into Chris you knew he was going to say something silly but it would make you smirk. In a strange way, I think people want Chris to succeed because he was the first cow but Chris is very if not at all malicious. He is devious but not malicious. Phil I feel is Chris' antithesis he drains time, is uncreative and incredibly malicious, and I would say he is a horrible person. If I watched GenoSamuel's Chris anthology it feels like a journey but with Phil it feels like I am in a hell dimension awaiting escape. The pre-streams are so similar now and it is just 2 and a half hours of constant begging. and even his responses to things are predictable.

I have this feeling there will be a viewer mass exodus soon and definitely in the summer. I am more enthralled by his mental degradation.

It's been said before but DSP is like watching a car crash in slow motion. Can't look away and can't intervene. All you can do is sit there and watch everything go down.

Part of me wants Phil to continue on for another decade though just to see where he ends up, instead of finally crashing in the next 2-3 years though.

I think as he goes more insane this will provide an uptick in attention online and with his luck new whales, which will stave off the mental decline a bit. He's at his most insane when he doesn't get money. So it will be a long drawn out process.

I go back and forth about wanting him to just go away or not. I think most of the time I do want it to continue cause it can be so funny and if it isn't I just close the tab. That's one of the things that his narc brain can't comprehend is that a lot of detractors just watch for laughs and if it isn't funny that day/week you just give it a break for a bit and check in on his next mental breakdown. However, there are occasionally periods like the last couple weeks for me where we have hit new lows in begging that I didn't think possible and I just think you know maybe him finally dying on stream would be nice so I don't ever have to hear this again. That's usually pretty rare though. I fully expect him to be around on the internet in one form or another until he dies cause he needs the attention no matter what happens.

I do find it hard to imagine a much larger viewer exodus than what has already happened pre to post king arc. Obviously the vast majority of viewers even on his actual stream are trolls and that has been the case for a very long time now, but he is near as low as possible I feel. I think a couple weeks ago he started a stream with less than 100 combined viewers(it climbed a bit as it went but that was the lowest start I've ever seen from him). I don't think we can go much lower unless larpers stop what they are doing and they won't. At this point I don't think it matters much anyways because we are really down to a handful of whales who pay for his life. I know whales have been the dominant form of income for a long time but it did draw away attention from smaller donators/dolphins/more troll tips. It's pretty much a couple people who pay for this circus now. Maybe they'll keep it up until he dies, maybe they'll get hit by a bus. You never know but it's not a good position to be in. Good thing he is a delusional narc though cause I would have killed myself already in his shoes.

Instead I would half-seriously compare Phil to two other long-time lolcows, Russell Greer and Lucas Werner. As bad as Russell and Lucas are, there's a certain sincerity to their insanity. You KNOW Russell believes if he didn't look like he did, he'd be a successful musician dating the latest e-thot. You KNOW Lucas believes those damn telomeres are important and that age-gap relationships are society's plot against him. Their beliefs are irrational at best, but at least they actually believe them.

Phil is the opposite type of lolcow. Phil believes in nothing.

The one thing the Joon documentary and the detractor channels like TBS have shown is that Phil will lie for absolutely no reason, then curse you for noticing. He has absolutely no shame, no soul, and while he has goals for YOU to give him things, he's never doing a thing for anyone but himself. He's an empty shell. The bank leaks, the bankruptcy, having a cat, his parents being near death, WWE Champions, the reasons he's a failure...EVERYTHING is a lie.

Russell wants to be famous and get laid. Lucas wants to marry a teenager and get laid. They'll never achieve those goals. But Phil HAD everything given to him and blew it. He dug his own grave and put himself in the position he is now. And the cognitive dissonance between that reality and his version of life is what makes him one of the top lolcows. And in a way, a much worse actual human being than it seems on the surface.
