That's absolute bullshit. What happened was back in the day, the Catholic Church not being allowed to marry, became an absolute paradise and haven for fags. The gays flocked to the Catholic Church because they couldn't get married and had plausible deniability now for why they're unmarried men. Instead of being ostracized from society and being looked at as weird, they were free to be who they were without arousing suspicion. The Diddlers were in the same boat as the fags and took the same route, and often fags were also often diddlers. So they all wound up becoming priests because it was a convenient societal scapegoat for them. You see the reality is, you can't just execute every diddler and they're not a diddler until they get caught. So these people needed somewhere to go to give them a convenient excuse for not being social outcasts and many became priests.
A strong and consistent legal system is a key block to building a high trust society. If crime isn't dealt with and people don't feel safe in public (or even at home in some neighborhoods) then there can be no trust.
