I think the most stomach-churning aspect of Becky's existence for me is how the ever increasing hyperliberalization and hyperindividualization of American mass culture has enabled her behavior. This is actually pretty telling that Becky has only just been forced to participate more in Hannah’s care. Many MANY babies fall outside the age range of the clothing they wear for some amount of time. Hannah is an enormous Minecraft baby and probably was out of newborn outfits in a matter of days and on to 3 months outfits. Becky just suddenly noticing this disparity only further highlights what an uninvolved mother she has been.
