Business Jeep Now Shows You Pop-up Ads Every Time You Stop

Car manufacturers are increasingly using subscriptions and paywalled features to generate revenue, but some tactics are testing the patience of drivers. A Jeep owner recently shared a frustrating experience with a pop-up ad that repeatedly appears on the infotainment screen every time the car stops. The ad cannot be turned off, leaving the driver annoyed and distracted.

The issue was reported by a Jeep Grand Cherokee owner on Reddit. The vehicle, equipped with the UConnect infotainment system, displays an ad promoting Jeep’s FlexCare Extended Care Premium Plans encouraging drivers to buy extended warranty coverage. It provides options to call a specialist, press OK, or close the ad using a small X button. However, in this case, pressing OK did not stop the ad from reappearing, making it a persistent nuisance.

The Company’s Response

Stellantis, Jeep’s parent company, responded to the incident, stating that the ad was part of an in-vehicle message to inform customers about extended care options. They acknowledged that a temporary software glitch had caused the inability to opt-out in some cases. Stellantis assured that the issue had been resolved and that they were working directly with the affected customer to address the problem.

Ads in Other Jeep Models

This is not the first time Jeep owners have faced similar issues. Complaints about pop-up ads have been reported by owners of other Jeep models, including the Gladiator and Wrangler 4xe. On other forums, frustrated drivers have shared their experiences, with some describing the ads as relentless and intrusive. Jeep’s customer service has advised users to close the ads using the X button and clear stored notifications, but this has not always resolved the problem.

If you spend way too much money to buy the shittiest Jeep Wrangler ever just to have goyvertisments shoved in your face in traffic, you. are. retarded.

Get yourself an aftermarket head unit, digital signal processor, amplifiers, and better speakers. You shouldn't have to de-jew your fucking car, but here we are.

Stellantis is a corporate raider. They acquire ownership of a car company, fire all but the bare minimum, cut everything crucial to its operations, then ruin the product with shit like this. QA drops to next to nothing, customers are left holding the ball because they didn't know this shit hole of a company bought them out, and eventually the company will go under but Stellantis probably already made it money back. I thought we banned this sort of behavior years ago.

Why do you still drive around a 25 year old car?

People ask.

Soon?

They will all know why and regret all the times they laughed.

Mine will be able to pull away from stop signs while they fight to close 50 pop up windows.

And if my 25er breaks down? Time to get the 45er out.....

Let's see you geniuses "hack" a Rochester Q-jet and mechanical fuel pump.

Dodge has been utter shit since Iacocca was pushed out. Bailouts, bankruptcies, etc. Stellantis is a new level of shit, even for a company as bad as Chrysler.

The solution to this is simple: STOP BUYING THEIR SHITTY CARS
And buy what instead? Are there any new cars that don't constantly phone home with your location and shove ads in your face?

I'm seriously asking.

Not that I am aware of, my friend. I buy old stuff and keept it running with bailing wire, duct tape and prayers to the Almighty.

GM and Ford are in the same basket now.
