Car manufacturers are increasingly using subscriptions and paywalled features to generate revenue, but some tactics are testing the patience of drivers. A Jeep owner recently shared a frustrating experience with a pop-up ad that repeatedly appears on the infotainment screen every time the car stops. The ad cannot be turned off, leaving the driver annoyed and distracted.
The issue was reported by a Jeep Grand Cherokee owner on Reddit. The vehicle, equipped with the UConnect infotainment system, displays an ad promoting Jeep’s FlexCare Extended Care Premium Plans encouraging drivers to buy extended warranty coverage. It provides options to call a specialist, press OK, or close the ad using a small X button. However, in this case, pressing OK did not stop the ad from reappearing, making it a persistent nuisance.

The Company’s Response
Stellantis, Jeep’s parent company, responded to the incident, stating that the ad was part of an in-vehicle message to inform customers about extended care options. They acknowledged that a temporary software glitch had caused the inability to opt-out in some cases. Stellantis assured that the issue had been resolved and that they were working directly with the affected customer to address the problem.Ads in Other Jeep Models
This is not the first time Jeep owners have faced similar issues. Complaints about pop-up ads have been reported by owners of other Jeep models, including the Gladiator and Wrangler 4xe. On other forums, frustrated drivers have shared their experiences, with some describing the ads as relentless and intrusive. Jeep’s customer service has advised users to close the ads using the X button and clear stored notifications, but this has not always resolved the problem.https://propakistani.pk/2025/02/11/jeep-now-shows-you-pop-up-ads-every-time-you-stop/ (Archive)
