The only favorable way I see to interpret this requires taking a long-term view: the more Russell is encouraged to believe that he can do whatever he wants and skirt the consequences, the harder it will hit him when he eventually does find himself in a really tight spot. Eventually he's going to find himself standing in front of an unsympathetic judge in an orange jumpsuit, charged with ejaculating on female Lyft customers or something like that, and he'll end up navigating the situation the same way he has here. Sooner or later his recklessly uncivilized behavior and his belief in his own exemption from the rules will bring about life-destroying consequences for him. The only question is whether this will happen next week or four decades from now. The longer that moment is delayed, the worse it will be when it arrives.

But Greer will try. I had hoped the District Judge would make some comment to the effect that he can't appeal or object to this, but no such luck. The March deadline also muddies the water a little since it's a couple of weeks past when Hardin has to file replies on the "debtor exam" BS and the amended complaint on Feb. 28. A whole lot can happen between now and then.

Again, we have to remember that this is just ONE sanction for fees and costs for a very specific piece of fuckery on Greer's part. There's plenty more to come. Indeed, Greer is currently under yet another show-cause order that'll be due in less than 2 weeks (which he will no doubt seek to delay and confuse as per usual).

While it does suck that the judge basically told Hardin he’s working for almost nothing on this, I do think that more sanctions are forthcoming. This establishes precedent that Greer is recalcitrant and can be punished by the court in whatever way is deemed necessary.

So I’d say be patient. There’s no way this won’t be his last fuck-up in court.

This suggests to me that the District Judge will not be so lenient with the second sanction the Magistrate imposed, which while a lesser one, is at least some good progress.

Sanction orders are not immediately appealable.

5K was a very reasonable amount for the work put in by Hardin. Is it because Melonhead is homeless I wonder? Maybe the magistrate settle on an amount he feels Ratface can realistically pay? But 5K in legal costs is nothing on the average.

Honestly I don't know, this case is beyond fucked. Jersh really is the justice systems nigger, no matter what happens he just is not allowed to win. Greer could shit on a plate and turn it in as a motion and this magistrate would make it work somehow.

I'm going to call it and say we will see a jury trial no matter what, in like 4 years probably. This seems to be the magistrate only goal. get Ratface in front of a jury so they can find Josh guilty of being Josh and sentenced to death.

I would kill to know Hardin's personal opinion on what's actually going on here.
