Why be scared? The so-called "news media" has done nothing but suck the President's dick in exchange for "access" for something like 20 years now. It really reached its nadir after 2000 with Bush and then Obama. If they're frozen out by the Administration, they'll have to do their own work for a change instead of just acting as glorified stenographers for whatever shit comes out of the government. It'll be good for them to do some work. And it's unlikely to be very friendly.

The government should be afraid of the media, not view it as a yappy, annoying, but otherwise harmless lap dog.

That seems to be the big divide between Bernie's revolution and Ron Paul's. Even though Ron swiped votes from Romney, the Republican party didn't blame him for the loss. Paul's people got criticized for supporting a "loon," but at least their party didn't suggest their existence normalized white supremacy. The end result was a lot of Republican voters moved over to the Libertarian ticket, but I don't see Bernie's people running to the Green party. Maybe we will see the resurgence of the socialist party in 2020.

Edit: More pessimistic than optimistic.
