You know it’s funny, his instincts are actually there….he reads that something happened and is like, “wait a minute that doesn’t seem like the way things work.” But because it’s the Bad Guys he doesn’t question it, doesn’t try to figure out who people are or what positions they’re appointed to, or what the legal structure is by which the president controls the executive branch, and then offer a critique on what may be novel or shortsighted (you know, investigative journalist stuff). Nope, he just launches into his “why can’t we just shoot them all?” fantasies.

I think the funniest part is that he thinks the appropriate response to some dudes coming into an office building and going "we have orders from the boss to do this computer work" is that security should immediately gun them down. Shoot first, ask questions like "are they actual employees sent to do something" later apparently.

Jake's latest gaming session is up on Twitch. It runs for nine-and-a-quarter hours.

I've worn a whole lot of hats in and around games, tabletop and digital.
Yes Jake, we know you have.

There was nothing of note in the game stream, apart from this one little peek into Talking-Time Discord. Is Jake in a fashion channel there? We can only hope he's posting the latest Boobs Dress innovations for his appreciative audience.

Sadly it seems unlikely that we'll ever get a mole in there. Do they even admit newcomers who weren't already beardy gamer proto-troons in 2001?

Also, this week's Jakedev stream will be more card painting.

EDIT: By the way, last week was the 3-month anniversary of "Brainstorming A Survival Plan". I wonder if Jake survived.

"Hey guys, I've not spoken to another human being since 2e came out, are rangers still bad?"
I love those occasions when Jake wakes up like Encino Man and tries to hop right back into some early 2000s RPG forum debate. I'm still surprised he never once seems to have mentioned GNS theory.

"Hey guys, what does everyone think about falling damage dice?"

Yesssssss, new Jake... cooking shng? God knows calling it a "recipe" would be overly generous, bless his heart. I am impressed that he didn't try to explain how to use a can opener in detail beyond not cutting oneself. His mystery audience has also progressed enough to boil water (obviously thanks to his last tutorial!), but not quite enough to no longer require a visual description for when to know water is, in fact, boiling just right. Who adds spices in such a weird way??? I love it.

Violet is clearly missing her calling as a recipe blogger. The internet yearns for your... unique insight!

The Jakedev stream for 2/7/2025 is up. More or less he works in silence, but he does mention that this card game was originally from 2009, and that he considers his "impressionistic" style a needed curative in a world where "overly-polished" fantasy tabletop art lacks individuality.

We have one Alt-Tabbie for the night:
1739172047011.png

No idea why he's looking up the director of "Flash Gordon" who died in 2022.
We see that he's reading about FPGA-emulated Z80 chips and Arduino, which might indicate what he thinks the Jaketendo is going to look like now.
Cousin Jono's Discord chat is in the upper right.
And Just The Facts is open in the lower left, despite not having been updated in over a week (it still hasn't). I don't know what to think about current events!

Jake is wondering why nobody clips the "highlights" of his interminable streams. Delusional as always.

Would he be delighted or horrified to learn that people are, in fact, clipping his streams, but it's the basement-dwelling not-sees of the New Zealand fruit forum?

I looked over the Jakestream for Monday 2/10/2025.

Jake slept terribly on Monday! Somebody opened the front door to the building, and that caused the heat to turn itself on full-blast, and he got dried out and overheated! No one has ever lived such a tough life.

Nothing interesting happened onstream, but we see what Jake was talking about in those posts clipped by @kazuhiro
He played a game where there are characters called "Violette" and "Hazel", and he misses PHH.

But then, perhaps you want Just The Facts.

Jake can't enjoy games about Mars because of EEEEELON!!!!

He's also mad at Stardock for some reason, apparently their CEO did something cancel-worthy. Stardock are one of the last good pro-consumer studios, stands to reason the Usual Suspects would turn on them. Does anyone have the lore on what it was they supposedly did?
