We can agree to disagree on this point. I can't blame post USSR Russia to not want to join the group of people that opposed them for 60 years.
Fair enough.
There are limits set on how much energy a solar panel can produce.
When you look into wind power on a local level that builds a network, you realise how amazing and cheap it is at generating electricity. Which is why it is vilified by the people who push it.
As I said: a lot of the green economy stuff is bullshit designed to suck in government money for do-nothing jobs. It's honestly sad.
Russia made bank from selling their energy to India, which was sold back to Europe at a mark-up.
They got around the sanctions this way, yes, but that does not translate to a victory when you look at per capita GDP in Russia. Russia is not doing well.
I agree, though the results must have come back as horrifying to the incompetent US military, otherwise a peace and negotiation deal wouldn't be on the table.

OT: Every once-great country has been hit by a competency crisis across all walks of life. No one in the west would win a war against an old school world power.
I bet USA 1940 would walk all over USA 2024, even with the technological advantage that the latter has.
Actually, it came back as a pleasant surprise because it showed that the Russians have not innovated their military in decades. The Russian offensive stalled and they failed their strategic goals of toppling the Zelenskyy government. Peace talks are on the table because, contrary to globohomo caterwauling, the US cannot bankroll the entire Ukrainian government forever.

In 1940, USA had not even developed a full-fledged combined arms doctrine. You are dead wrong about that. The US also switched from bullseye targets to silhouette targets between 1940 and now which increased soldier lethality by training them to shoot at human-shaped targets.

I appreciate the reply, but this is historical revisionism. Britain attempted an alliance with Russia in both world wars. Stalin had figured his best chance of survival was the Nazi-Soviet pact - even though they hated one another. Hence this famous cartoon at the time: (the guns are symbolic)

I don't mean to be rude, but I won't reply to WW2 posts, not that I don't want to, but because this thread oft goes on a spergalicious tangent of WW2 and it derails the thread. I apologise to the thread for going down that route again with this post.
The post wasn’t about ww2 I’m just demonstrating Russias consistent behaviour. We can go back even further to the Polish-Bolshevik war of the 1920’s, or the Crimean War.

For the last 200 years they only want to expand their borders and they cannot be reasoned with.

Trump and Elon getting rid of the woke nuclear National Nuclear Security Administration. Fully retarded. Imagine if Biden did this and the amount of whining in this thread.
It's wild because I am a Republican and I understand the need for a restricted, but functional, federal government. Crying that everything is woke as an excuse for gutting integral national defense programs is a relatively new phenomenon.

The Department of Energy has paused the firings of hundreds of employees who work for a key agency maintaining the U.S. nuclear weapons stockpile, multiple sources tell ABC News.
Managers with the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) are frantically calling employees back and telling them that -- as of right now -- they're not fired, despite some receiving termination emails and phone calls on Thursday. Their badges are getting turned back on and access to federal systems is being restored, at least temporarily.
Hundreds of probationary employees were terminated Thursday night in the mass Trump administration layoffs. The move prompted concerns of a national security risk because the agency is responsible for maintaining U.S. nuclear weapons, transporting them, and nuclear counterterrorism, among other missions.
NNSA held an all-staff meeting Friday morning, announcing the DOE had agreed to pause the layoffs, due to the agency's national security mission.
NNSA staff tell ABC News they are in a holding pattern. They're still bracing for firings, but possibly not as widespread.

It was no surprise most people in the room didn't applaud him. The "free speech" problem in the EU and the annulling of Romania's election were dead on. You can throw money at military hardware, but you can't fix low morale. Not in this current absolute state of the union, who the fuck would even fight for it? If the EU military leaders try to force the dissident population into dying for them, they shouldn't be even surprised in the slightest when a mutiny or outright civil war happens. Personally, I'd rather fuck off to another country and tell the commies to go fuck themselves and laugh at them.
The parallels between the EU and USSR, yesterday's happening and the uncontrolled migration (that nobody voted for) was just the icing on the cake. Vance's speech was beautiful and he's right on every single point.
now that I've listened to it I'm getting jelly not having such a politician. the brass balls directly calling out germany like that

Russia has been a menace to Europe long before 1945. They literally started ww2 alongside Germany.
the British are far more responsible for WW2 than the Russians were and i believe the soviets and their red army were without exaggeration one of, if not the most evil force in the history of the world.

Hitler was a retard doing things way to fast but had Churchill just let him negotiate with Poland for Danzig and not made the insane promise of "polish sovereignty no mater what" (a promise that was broken anyway when they let the soviets subjugate them for 50 years afterwards) it's doubtful WW2 happens especially not the way it did.

Again, we can agree to disagree as it is personal perception. I see it that Russia took what it wanted to/needed to and said it would, with no plans to push further into Ukraine as it would offer no value at greater losses.
Don't forget that Zelensky threw literal retards at the front-lines and sacrificed 80k people for a city that fell to Russian occupation, even while using toys donated by the west.
Besides, with the debt that Ukraine has run up, it would not make sense for Putin to conquer Ukraine - regardless of whether he could or not, and wind up sitting on the border of Poland.
The victory for Russia is doing exactly what he has done; take land, farms and manufacturing facilities and wage a war of attrition.

The media have been silent on Ukraine for over a year. If things were going well, we would hear about it non-stop.

In 1940, USA had not even developed a full-fledged combined arms doctrine. You are dead wrong about that. The US also switched from bullseye targets to silhouette targets between 1940 and now which increased soldier lethality by training them to shoot at human-shaped targets.
It's simpler than that.
1940 - men wanting to fight and willing to die for the flag
2025 - men pretending to be women saying they'll die if the fag flag is removed.

especially because the kind of people who'd wreck these cars are gonna find it a lot easier to get to the liberals than they are to get to the people they actually want to punish.

Honestly, if Obama had been a bit more forward-thinking, he really could have set the democrats up for success. Use the popular mandate to call out the cronyism of the democrats, frame them as racists, and bring them into line for a future facing outlook.

Instead, he focused on being seen as perfect and let hillary go and cut down the ladder behind him.
Obama wasn't allowed to think about tomorrow as far as the future of Democrats.

Hillary Clinton being his heir apparent was non-negotiable to get her to not burn the party to the ground after losing the 2008 primary. And she SCORCH EARTH the part to ensure no one could steal 2016 from her, with Obama letti g it happen because he was set for life.

Ah right, for context there’s a character named “law“ in one piece and there are people who wear his hat in public, you can look back in rioter footage and find at least one of these buffoons
Oh, I just thought 'law hat' meant 'jew hat' because, well lawyers. I didn't expect it to be weebshit.

Jasmine Crockett looks to be another AOC level plant, and she's actually becoming more of a hoodrat because her puppermasters want her to. This was her about 4 years ago:

It's not the work of any puppet masters, she got joned on hard for talking like an oreo cracker. Is hard to keep that dignity when other black people are shitting on you for it.

Fair enough, no use arguing about it here where UM will ban us for Russia-Ukraine sperging.
It's simpler than that.

2025 - men pretending to be women saying they'll die if the fag flag is removed.
That's pretty reductionist, but you and I don't agree on a lot anyway. In any case, we've both said our piece and I appreciate your posts even if I really disagree with some of them.

Judge sets a 5-day deadline for the Trump administration to start lifting its USAID funding freeze

L / A

WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal judge has ordered President Donald Trump’s administration to temporarily lift a funding freeze that has shut down U.S. humanitarian aid and development work around the world, and he has set a five-day deadline for the administration to prove it’s complying.

The judge’s ruling late Thursday cited the financial devastation that the near-overnight cutoff of payments has caused suppliers and nonprofits that carry out much of U.S. aid overseas.

The ruling was the first to challenge the Republican administration’s funding freeze. It comes amid a growing number of lawsuits by government employees’ groups, aid groups and government suppliers asking courts to roll back the administration’s fast-paced dismantling of the U.S. Agency for International Development, or USAID, and U.S. foreign assistance overall.

Trump and his aide Elon Musk say the 6-decade-old aid agency and much of foreign assistance overall is out of line with the Republican president’s agenda.

Administration officials “have not offered any explanation for why a blanket suspension of all congressionally appropriated foreign aid, which set off a shockwave and upended” contracts with thousands of nonprofit groups, businesses and others, “was a rational precursor to reviewing programs,” Judge Amir H. Ali said in his ruling.

Contractors, farmers and suppliers in the U.S. and around the world say the Trump administration’s funding freeze has stiffed them on hundreds of millions of dollars in pay for work already done, has forced them to lay off staff and is rapidly putting many near the point of financial collapse.

Farmers and other suppliers and contractors describe fortunes in undelivered food aid rotting in ports and other undelivered aid at risk of theft.

The judge ordered the administration to notify every organization with an existing foreign-aid contract with the federal government of his temporary stay. He set a Tuesday deadline for the administration to show it had done so and was otherwise complying with the order.

There was no immediate public response from the Trump administration.

The judge issued the temporary order in the U.S. in a lawsuit brought by two organizations, the AIDS Vaccine Advocacy Coalition and the Global Health Council, representing health organizations receiving U.S. funds for work abroad.

In his order, the judge noted that the Trump administration argued it had to shut down funding for the thousands of USAID aid programs abroad to conduct a thorough review of each program and whether it should be eliminated.

However, lawyers for the administration had failed to show they had a “rational reason for disregarding ... the countless small and large businesses that would have to shutter programs or shutter their businesses altogether,” the judge added.

The ruling also bars Secretary of State Marco Rubio and other Trump officials from enforcing stop-work orders that the Trump administration and Musk have sent to the companies and organizations carrying out foreign aid orders.

The judge also rejected the Trump administration’s argument that it was buffering the impact of the funding freeze, offering waivers to allow funding to keep flowing to some aid partners. He cited testimony that no such waiver system yet existed and that the online payment system at USAID no longer functioned.

In a separate ruling in another lawsuit Thursday, a judge said his temporary block on a Trump administration order that would pull all but a fraction of USAID staffers off the job worldwide would stay in place at least another week.

U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols closely questioned the government about how it could keep aid staffers abroad safe on leave despite the administration’s dismantling of USAID. When a Justice Department attorney could not provide detailed plans, the judge asked him to file court documents after the hearing.

USAID staffers who until recently were posted in Congo had filed affidavits for the lawsuit describing the aid agency all but abandoning them when looting and political violence exploded in Congo’s capital last month, leaving them to evacuate with their families.

Oh of course they did this on Friday in a desperate attempt to stifle Trump and prevent him from appealing for the weekend. Fuck these people. This is when I pull out the guns and start black vanning these judges under military arrest to never be seen again.

It's not often you can see the exact moment the Wheel of Time turns and ushers in a new age.

Thankfully Barack Obama televised it.

Its hilarious in a dark humor way how this was supposed to have been the zenith of Obama's Presidency as him shitting on Trump at the correspondence dinner in between giving the order to kill Bin Ladin, which he announced the following night IIRC the timeline.

Instead it was the weekend where Obama sealed his party's doom and saw Trump set himself onto the path of his ultimate destiny.
