I don't understand why he has been picked up as a hero figure.
People envy the rich, and resent those they feel have become rich by ill-gotten means sure.
This guy has been portrayed as some kind of Robin Hood folk hero, and there's really nothing to suggest a motive, desire to protest etc. Yes his back was fucked, by BBC, surfing or whatever. You'd have to be pretty fucking mobile to do what he did so while potentially lifelong and painful, it wasn't like he had nothing to lose.
We're presuming he's mad at Healthcare CEOs for some higher purpose. If he wanted to do V for Vendetta, he went a really strange way about it.
I do also wonder what the victims kids must be feeling. Not in a "Think of the Children" way, but "Exceedingly wealthy child watches the peasantry celebrate her fathers death" sounds like a major villain backstory.
