Some bureaucrats suck, but I'm not sure how firing half the CDC's epidemic researchers fixes anything.
Are these the same researchers that were in place during Covid? Were they particularly useful? Did they come out to bat for Orange Man when he said shutting down all trade to China would be the best move, and people lampooned him for being racist, only to grill him later for not doing what he originally wanted to do? How effective were they REALLY?

This is me being genuinely curious.

What the fuck were they doing?

Orange Man downplayed the whole thing because he was trying to negotiate a deal with Xi. It only only when Americans started dropping that he closed shit down.

So we just nuke it and have nothing while viruses rage around?
I don't see plague victims wallowing in the streets right now but I did see the devastation, financial, emotional, psychological, physical, etc. that they caused over a nasty cold. So they failed to justify their existence. I can't trust them to be impartial and scientific so they don't get my fucking money.

It was more than a nasty cold.

Where are you reading "half of the epidemic researchers" were fired? All I've found says that one-tenth of the CDC has been cut and most if not all of them were probationary employees or newer members of the Epidemic Intelligence Service. Other agencies have seen layoffs of a similar nature.

Steven King is still seething that Trump didn’t pull a Deadzone, isn’t he?

I never got the whole “child human shield revealing my enemy to be a monster”. Most people would hit the ground and possibly piss their pants if a sniper shot at them. That’s why Trump will get actual tough guy points, he stood up and told his people to fight.
I think part of the long downfall of the left is that they started to believe that the real world is like their favorite books and movies, rather than being far more complex than that, and one of the things the newly ascendant MAGA must try to avoid is falling into that trap. Namely, that everyone on the other side is an evil no-good bad guy devoid of positive traits, and that everyone on our side is either good, or just waiting for the right moment to reveal that they're a traitor.

I can easily admit when someone who stands for beliefs I find vile displays positive traits like personal courage, generosity or honor. That doesn't mean I find them or what they believe noble, or that they are actually mislead or not cognizant of their vile beliefs, nor does it mean that I believe they shouldn't be defeated. It also means that there are those on our side whom we should always be aware have major character flaws or are simply opportunists, but are good enough at what they do, that they should be kept around (Elon Musk and Ted Cruz are examples of that).

I know the trope of the misunderstood bad guy is awful one, but that doesn't mean we should retreat to an unpragmatic Manichean worldview and see the world as we wish it to be rather than as it is... and by that reverse token we should encourage our opponents to indulge in it as much as possible.

So now you have no newer employees to train. (And newer employees are cheaper).

All these firings are assholes flipping the game table because the gym was closed for 3 months 5 years ago.

Hey, no. They painted him as racist towards Asians while Nancy Pelosi went out to Chinatown for optics purposes. Then things got worse. Here. Let me grab some articles from back then.

I SPECIFICALLY remember this because it was so retarded. (Archive)

Another one. (Archive)

(Archive)

It's even on video. The order of operations was "hey maybe a travel ban" THEN "DAS RACIST."

Guys, this is like the THIRD time you’ve slid into fascism. Is there something in the water in Germany? What the actual fuck goes on over there?
I can't pinpoint what the cause is but it's probably related to all the scat porn. Also, between them and Japan there seems to be a correlation between highly ordered authoritarian societies, rampant sexual degeneracy, and high precision machining.
