Canandaigua, N.Y. — Sam Nordquist, a 24-year-old transgender man who was reported missing in February, was tortured repeatedly for over a month before he was killed, according to state police.

Five people have been charged with his murder, police spokesperson Lynnea Crane said Friday.

Troopers made the arrests Thursday at Patty’s Lodge Motel in Canandaigua in Ontario County Thursday.

From early December 2024 to February 2025, Nordquist was subjected to “repeated acts of violence and torture which ultimately led to his death,” said Capt. Kelly Swift, head of Troop E’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

Nordquist is originally from Minnesota and traveled to the Finger Lakes area last September. He was last known to be staying at the motel.

Police found his body in a field off Payne Road in the town of Benton in Yates County, Swift said. The five people moved the body from the motel to cover up the murder, she said.

“In my 20-year law enforcement career, this is one of the most horrific crimes I’ve ever investigated,” Swift said.

The five individuals were charged with second-degree murder, troopers said. They are:

  • Precious N. Arzuaga, 38, of Canandaigua
  • Emily Jean Motyka, 19, of Lima
  • Jennifer A. Quijano, 30, of Geneva
  • Kyle R. Sage, 33, of Canandaigua
  • Patrick A. Goodwin, 30, Canandaigua
Goodwin was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2015 for 1st degree criminal sexual act and 1st degree sexual abuse, according to state prison records. He was released in 2023.

He went to prison for having sex with a 7-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl, according to the state sex offender’s registry.

Sage was sentenced to two to four years in state prison in 2022 for 4th degree grand larceny and 1st degree dissemination of indecent material to a minor. He got out in 2024.

We need to lock people up like that up for life, or execute them. Not let them out when they’re still young so they can kill and rape again.
They will never rehabilitate and they will never be able to be anything other than unsafe to have around.
Oh come on. This is so wrong. Being a stupid gender identity doesn't justify torment and murder by pedos and psychopaths
Agree. This is not something to celebrate. What happens now, locked up again for another pitifully short time then back out again to kill and rape again? We can’t have people like this in society. They need permanent removal.

This article goes into graphic detail about what happened
Farmington, N.Y. (WHAM) — Five people face murder charges after a transgender man reported missing in Ontario County was found dead in a field in Yates County, apparently after enduring months of torture, according to authorities.

"In my 20-year law enforcement career, this is one of the most horrific crimes I have ever investigated," New York State Police Captain Kelly Swift said.

New York State Police said Sam Nordquist, 24, of Oakdale, Minnesota, arrived in New York state in September and was staying at Patty's Lodge in Hopewell. He was last in contact with loved ones in late January and was last seen earlier this month.

Police launched a missing person investigation Sunday after receiving a welfare check request from Nordquist's family. They determined Nordquist had been staying at Patty's Lodge with Precious Arzuaga, 38, of Geneva, and others.

Swift said Nordquist "endured prolonged physical and psychological abuse" and "repeated acts of violence and torture" between early December and early February.

According to a felony complaint, the suspects sexually assaulted Nordquist with a table leg and broomsticks, and beat him with sticks, dog toys, ropes and belts until he died. His body "was then transported in an attempt to conceal the crime," Swift said during a press conference Friday at the New York State Police Troop E headquarters in Farmington.

Swift said police executed a search warrant Thursday inside Apartment 22 at Patty's Lodge. They found Nordquist's body Thursday in a field off Payne Road in the town of Benton.

Arzuaga and four other suspects were arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

  • Kyle Sage, 33, of Hopewell
  • Patrick Goodwin, 30, of Rochester
  • Emily Motyka, 19, of Rochester
  • Jennifer Quijano, 30, of Geneva
The five suspects were arraigned overnight and are being held in the Ontario County Jail without bail. District Attorney Jim Ritts said he anticipates grand jury action "very quickly."

"The facts and the circumstances of this crime are beyond depraved," Ritts said. "This is by far the worst homicide investigation that our office has ever been a part of. It is an ongoing investigation, so we are necessarily limited in the things that we can talk about. But no human being should have to endure what Sam endured."

Michelle Pickard, who lives in Farmington and assisted with the search effort, said Nordquist's heartbroken family is on the way from Minnesota and called the details of the case "sickening."

"Sam’s a human being, a beautiful one, and it’s just unfortunate that people are that disgusting and that ugly," she said.

Nordquist's death remains under investigation. Police said the Monroe County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.

Swift said authorities haven't ruled out the potential of a hate crime in the case. Ritts said they're asking for patience as they work through the case.

"We will work, and we will work tirelessly," Ritts said. "We will continue to work with our partners in law enforcement to make sure this investigation moves — and that we move forward appropriately so that the family can have closure."

And this article alleges Sam went there for love but things quickly soured, and she was kept around and tortured by these crack addicts for her DSS checks and sadistic pleasure.

Five upstate New Yorkers are under arrest for murdering a black trans man they tortured and raped for two months.

"The facts and circumstances of this crime are beyond depraved," Ontario County District Attorney James Ritts said during a Friday morning news conference. "This is, by far, the worst homicide investigation that our office has ever been a part of."

Sam Nordquist, 24, came to New York for love in late September. The Minnesota native met Precious Arzuaga, 38, of Geneva, on the Internet and flew here for her. At first the happy lovers flaunted their affair.

The honeymoon didn't last long.

Nordquist and Arzuaga broke up after Halloween, a source close to the investigation told The Free Lance. Arzuaga rekindled a romance with one of her former lovers, 30-year-old Jennifer A. Quijano, a/k/a "Brooklyn," also of Geneva. Brooklyn was jealous of Sam.

"She wanted him out," the source said. "I think they used her for her money and her DSS checks."

Arzuaga, Brooklyn and others were part of a drug-dealing crew.

“They're all known Crack addicts," according to the source. "They sell drugs from a certain house in one of the neighborhoods in Geneva."

Arzuaga lived in Geneva, but kept a room at Patty's Lodge in Hopewell, about 35 miles southeast of Rochester.

"It's a total crack den," the source said. "She was a prostitute. She would do tricks at night."

By early December 2024, Nordquist was Arzuaga's prisoner in Room 22 at Patty's Lodge, according to State Police and the felony complaint prosecutors filed against Arzuaga and four others in Ontario County on Friday.

It accuses them of murdering Nordquist "by punching, kicking, and striking her with numerous objects, including but not limited to sticks, dog toys, rope, bottle, belts, canes and broken boards."

The complaint also accuses them of "torturing, sexually assaulting her with a table leg and broomstick."

"They got a sick high out of it," the source says.

According to the felony complaint, the torture stopped on Feb. 2.

"She was being held at Patty's lodge," the source explained, "and then transferred to [Arzuaga's mother's] Shirley's house in a dog cage and beaten and tortured there."

Witnesses reported seeing Arzuaga and Quijano with Nordquist on the night of Jan. 31. One witness reported seeing Nordquist "beaten to a blood pulp."

"They had a towel wrapped around her head," the witness said, "and they were taking her into Shirley's house and saying 'I need help to hide a body.'"

Nordquist's captors took control of his mobile phone early on. They sent messages saying Sam was safe to his mother. They even made a hostage video.

Nordquist's family filed a missing person's complaint with the State Police on Feb. 9, Lynnea Crane, State Police Public Information Officer, said during Friday's news conference.

That led to the execution of a search warrant at Patty's Lodge on Monday, Feb. 13, Kelly Swift, Captain of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, revealed .

"Over the past 72 hours, our investigators and multiple law enforcement agencies have worked tirelessly to uncover the details surrounding this case," Capt. Swift said.

"Based on evidence and witness statements," Captain Swift added, the abuse began in "early December 2024" and lasted into "February 2025."

Nordquist's body was found in a farm field on Payne Road in nearby Yates County, about 15 miles from Patty's Lodge.

The Medical Examiner will confirm the precise cause of death.

Arzuaga, Quijano, Sage, Goodwin, Motyka were arraigned Friday morning and ordered held without bail in the Ontario County jail, according to court records.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the New York State Police at 585-398-4100 or crimetip@troopers.ny.gov

Finger lakes is where a lot of satanic abuse happens in case you were unaware. There has been tonnes of sacrificial orgies and other crazy shit in that area.

Also if Im not mistaken Hunter Biden has the lakes tattooed to his back. Maybe it was someone else.
I've vacationed around Lake Seneca. It's a pretty nice area the Finger Lakes in terms of natural beauty

From what I see the owner is a company called DG Hotels Inc.

They also run the Econo Lodge next door. Looks like Patty’s is the crack shed stepchild they allow crimes to be committed in.
Weird there's an LLC listed at the same address with no owners/executives listed

Considering everybody in the 25 mile radius of this story seems to be some kind of major criminal beyond your typical misdemeanor shit, I‘m guessing there’s some connected gang running things or something retarded like that and trying to hide it using their dope money for decent lawyers. Seriously the victim was being transported around to multiple places to the point there are witnesses who saw her all fucked up and carried around in a DOG KENNEL and no one said shit until the mom called police. Remove any minors under 14 and nuke the area from orbit, the place is blighted beyond repair.
