I don't remember the exact numbers, but a large chunk of profit for both Pepsi and Coke is directly from EBT. Shit is so fucked.

I've always wanted them to increase EBT and limit it to real food like meat, fruit, veggies etc so people can actually get healthy. It would be so easy to do since they just flag the items as EBT eligible it could be changed very quickly.

Food industry would change VERY quickly if all of a sudden their top selling slop was not EBT eligible. Also stop allowing that shit to be used at fast food places its a total disaster.

Agreed, if it's a splurge for me working 40+ hours, it should not be something that you can get on benefits. I think ground beef and chicken and pork are fine to purchase, but if it's something you'd buy for a night with the bros or a fancy dinner to impress in laws, it should be off the purchasable items.
That and it would teach people that you can spend $20 bucks at the store on simple, plain ingredients and make something killer and good for you.

Or they can stop killing cows so that beef is cheaper and can be eaten more often. Crab legs aren't that expensive are they ?

i'd like to see the state-wide programs for farmer's markets expanded, maybe have there be a system where people with snap can get a certain amount of fresh meat per week free, the government could use some of its subsidies in farming on things besides corn without having to feel bad about taking them away and potentially destroying the farmer vote.

I could get behind that. Fucking over the farmers is what got us into this mess to begin with. I wouldn't mind too terribly paying out of my own pocket for Soda as long as we could get this spending shit under control. Used to, a six pack of the 16 ounce bottles were around 5/6 bucks. Now they're around 8/9. Half gallon of blue bell ice cream was 5.99. Now it's around 8 (9 depending on where you are in my state).

Trump cutting a lot of wasteful spending in government bureaucracy is a good first step. I want to wait and see what he does with oil and gas production and see if we can get that to pre-pandemic levels again, and THAT'S when I know we're finally healing.

I've seen way more people just dumping on the egirl then Elon since she is a longtime slut who rode her way to where she is while larping as a based conservative after deleting her old stuff about loving sex with niggers. She can say "journos" were gonna release info but she probably seethed cause Elon was with another girl on valentines day and put it out herself.
