Not sure how Ralph is going to argue that it's provably hurt his income or reputation though. Even if he could afford a team of lawyers, he's vaporised so many fucking braincells he'll forget he even brought a lawsuit part way through.

His team are going to be tearing their hair out trying to get any sense (or pictorial ebbuhdance) through his xanny haze.

I know that everyone is giving Ralph for saying he knows tons of lawyers, but I think it true, Ralph knows;

• Divorce attorneys,
• child support/family law lawyers
• sexual assault attorneys
• debt collection attorneys,
• Lawyer specializing in aggravated assault against a police officer…

I mean granted, none of those attorneys are on his side but still…

While RationalWiki is full of lies and lolcows and we have a thread on them for a reason, this seems ill-advised. RW is irrelevant today and nobody gives a shit what they have to say, so it's not like his RW article is an ongoing problem. Proving damages from defamation will be a huge hurdle.

On his stream last evening, Steve Cambian briefly touched on his reasons for unfollowing and blocking Ethan, which is what provoked Ethan's hours-long Twitter meltdown yesterday. Steve said that he didn't want to get entangled with people who have done the things that Ethan has done in the past and that, paraphrasing, even quickly perusing "his Wikipedia article" made it clear that Ethan was somebody he would not willingly be interacting with anymore.

Ethan does not have a Wikipedia article, and has not for some time, so (as I remarked in chat at the time) it's my guess that Steve saw the Rational Wiki article as the #1 result upon searching for Ethan, mistook it for Wikipedia, and believed the lede's inaccurate statement that Ethan's a registered sex offender rather than a convicted sex offender. He has alluded to similar incidents in the past with prospective guests.

I'm not sure how much of a difference it would have made in the end, though, because this mild dismissal by Steve caused Ethan to go full rage pig in his chat and makes it pretty clear something else would have happened sooner or later anyway. Here are the screencaps of Ethan seething and making limp threats in Steve's chat, which I posted to the KC thread as it took place (these are the exact same screenshots, just crossposted). 'bob smith' is Ethan's ban evasion Youtube sock that he uses to comment in chats:

Even if Ethan were to win, how much does he think his damages would be? He's literally the scum of the internet. You'd just have to show the jury some clips of him talking about his baby mamas and him being high on xanax and they'd immediately realize his reputation can't be damaged.

Yes, this woman is truly EVIL an CRAAAAZYYYY for trying to get in contact with the father of her 5 month of baby who ghosted her. It's definitely not the guy who pumped and dumped her and already is a deadbeat dad to several other kids who is evil. All RW has to do is change "registered sex offender" to "convicted sex offender" and Ralph won't have a case. Though Ralph will swear up and down that pleading no contest is not the same as pleading guilty.
