I've trained Boxing and Jiu Jitsu under coaches (especially assistant coaches) that had never competed or had poor records. I've gone to MMA classes run by dudes with terrible records as well. You're obviously better off having an instructor that is good enough to compete and win (while also being a good teacher) but if you're a novice you're probably just fine with a coach with a poor record.

Aaron is probably a bad fighter, and I could see him even being a bad coach/instructor. But plenty of good coaches are bad fighters. And bad coaches are still coaches.

I found a review where Coach Scott was accused of racism. This message was responded to as if the owner knows who the reviewer is so I'm prepared to accept this wasn't a troll review. This isn't the only one but without any response from Scott it's hard to tell if they were troll reviews or not.

Look, I generally don't have any quarrel with people who don't like Aaron. I don't particularly like Aaron either. However, if you're only doing it in defense of Melton and/or Balldo, you're doing it wrong.

Who's checking the Google Reviews of that gym daily when they get like 3-4 reviews a year?
