The woods isn't a bad place to have a coop, as @Tsukasa Kadoya said certain neighborhoods can give you trouble for having chickens but not all neighborhoods are like this. As long as you have a proper coop they won't get mauled. Chickens are also very cheap animals to buy, if you have to take out a load to buy two chickens you have more problems to worry about than egg prices.
