No, no. He wants to buy Greenland because he sees the green (cash) possible if they exploit their resources better than being snow monkeys.

I know your just joking but i wanna share why trump actually wants greenland

As the north poles ice keeps melting the red shipping lane will be become viable and it becomes the fastest route from east coast of usa to east asia

Owning greenland secures those shipping lines in peacetime and stops an naval incursion in wartime

We owned it during ww2 for those exact reason and the danish were nazi collaborators or at least VERY submissive subjects

I will choose to not believe this, until it is officially confirmed and there is an investigation launched. Somehow I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out as true though.
I have no reason at this time to believe he's lying - Its interesting how he himself is already walking the exact lines of the claim, Elon is usually a bit... aggressive and bombastic. Him drawing the line clearly that "this is just the ones listed as eligible" and not immediately making dollar value claims himself is telling.

This week as the news media tries to run cover is gonna be hilarious. Gonna see a lotta sudden new social security experts walked out into those news studios.

Once again I am asking people - especially journalists - to read Art of the Deal. This is Trump's opening gambit, not his final position. He's asking for the earth and expects to negotiate. IMO Zelensky knows this, which is why he hasn't thrown a wobbler about it; his last known statement on the proposal was that it wasn't ready yet.
I always thought the basic gist of negotiation for shit giving a figure higher than the one you actually want and negotiate down to a lower but still desirable figure as a 'compromise'. Even with Marshall Plans (I know we didn't have to repay any of the money back but still) and Lend Lease, the UK and other European powers at the receiving end of American aid were still expected to pay America back in some measure even if not necessarily with cash. Why should Ukraine be any different? I wonder if that's why America having Russia all to itself at the negotiation table is why other Euro states are peeved, because without being at the table they can't get their pound of flesh from Ukraine for their aid.

Hardcore History is one of the most self-indulgent things I've ever heard. Carlin basically spends 12 hours rambling about every single primary source document he wants to talk about. He does find some cool primary source documents, but holy shit, get an editor. Carlin also spends way too much time talking about gore and torture. A lot of history is really banal and boring. Without diving into the mundane stuff, you do not get a full picture of a given subject. Carlin also presents a story much more than he presents history and doesn't include stuff that disrupts or contradicts the story he wants to tell.
I enjoyed the “destroyer of worlds” episodes about nuclear weapons and warfare but couldn’t even listen to more than 30 minutes of any other episode. He talks too slow and doesn’t edit the gaps.

Added everything up, and it's more than the total population of the US.

Number on Social Security

I like the 1000 people who were already age 120 when the first social security number was ever issued.

Reality: There were errors in digitizing records and the college kids working on this haven't had to write leet code to handle bad data before. But nobody wants to hear the boring truth when there are politics to sperg out about.

Maybe but if it's also reality that the benefits are still paid out that's one of the most expensive mistakes in history.

It's also possible they just imported data without cleaning any of it up.

It's interesting how these "mistakes" never seem to benefit your common citizen or that ATMs don't ever make a mistake and gives me more money than it should.
