If this is the Acerthorn thing, he was supposed to act as an agent only for sending takedown notices regarding a video, not filing actual lawsuits.
yeah i misunderstood what was going with that. I was imagining a scenario where Russ could be compelled to filed a lolsuit against Liz dong gone for not having sex with him to everyone's amusement.

Like instructing witnesses to not comply with a subpoena?
This is something Hardin can bring up at the drop of a hat. The next time sanctions are up for discussion, Hardin can just throw in "...on top of this, Plaintiff has a record of bad faith behavior, such as telling his own witnesses not to comply with a subpoena".

It doesn't matter that this has been "remedied" by excluding the witnesses; the behavior is on the record, it establishes a pattern, and the Court can take notice of it at any time. All Russ can do is derail whatever BS he's pushing for a page to argue that's not what happened.

A lot of people do. I've said for years that cop and lawyer TV shows have given people a very skewed, fantasy idea of how the legal process actually works. Of course, most people aren't retarded enough to actually take things to the spittle-flecked level of crazy that Greer does.
Part of it is due to Russ's pattern where he can't understand basic social situation and part of it is due to the complexity of the law.

He imagines the most beneficial thing happening and then deludes himself into thinking that everything is a sign of what he imagines. He isn't schizophrenic but there is a similarity in that pattern of thinking. I actually don't think we will get plightsperging filing until after the magistrate judge rules on the objection because in Greer's mind he still doesn't have to pay the sanctions.

I also imagine that this sort of thing will become more and more common in people as more children are raised by Ipads.

This case is really starting to get interesting. I'm very curious to see what will happen if he continues to accure sanctions.

I have to be honest, I did NOT at all expect his sanctions to be reduced to $1000. Hardin's fee schedule looked incredibly reasonable to me. I thought for sure he would be slapped with at least the $5k. Shows how much I know.

It's like waiting every week for a new episode of my favorite anime to drop. The writers have got me hooked, I have no idea what's going to happen next.

Does Hardin preserving his objections in the event Russell keeps his promise to "appeal the Hell out of this" mean Hardin can argue to the 10th "Actually, it should've been more" without Null having to appeal himself?

Remember, that was the District Judge who admitting to not reading Hardin's costs. The Magistrate Judge is sick of Russ and probably would've granted it, and probably WILL grant another sanction against Russell

The fee schedule was filed before the Magistrate Judge. The $1000 sanction was ruled by the District Judge because Shit-Lips tried to go over the Magistrate's head to complain about the Magistrate issuing sanctions against him. The District Judge likely never saw the fee schedule, so it never factored in to his decision over the $1000 sanctions. I believe Russ still has two more sanctions against him in the chamber, so the fees that Hardship Hardin has provided to the court will likely be covered under one of them. And even if Russ didn't, he's bound to fuck it up enough that he will get slapped with more sanctions.

Couldn't the Magistrate still sanction Greer for the full amount of Hardin's bill, on top of the District Judge's sanction of $1,000? I'd like to think so, but maybe I'm just dumb.

As long as it flows from docket 227, instead of the overruled (in monetary part) 218

This bit of the judge's ruling never made any sense to me. The magistrate never actually determined a dollar amount, so what the hell are you actually overruling? You weren't overruling the idea that he should be sanctioned, and that that sanction should be a costs order.

And having agreed those things in principle, shouldn't you at least take the time and trouble to enquire into exactly how much in costs Greer's actions have incurred?

I hope the judge gets syphilis from fellating mongs.

The specifics. Magistrate said that reasonable attorney's fees must be recovered; the District court said that's too much, and that only a flat sum of $1000 could be recovered.

I'm starting to get the shakes, guys. When's the next filing due?
Next Monday by my calendar. Greer to EXPLAIN.
Mr. Greer shall produce a copy of the restraining order filed against Mr. Moon in 2018 in Utah to Defendants on or before February 24, 2025. Mr. Greer shall submit briefing on the issue of Rule 37(a)(5)(A) fees on or before February 24, 2025.

Well originally Greer was supposed to file his response to the fees and costs by today, but presumably he no longer has to since the District Judge reduced his sanction to only $1000. (I would still expect him to file some sort of objection or appeal to that anyway, regardless of whether he legally can or not.) But he does still have to respond to the most recent show-cause order by this coming Monday the 24th, on the subject of that stupid 2018 "restraining order" that he was "happy" to provide and never did.

Dare I even ask why a restraining order is relevant in a copyright issue case?
Greer thought it would prevent chuds like Hardin from deposing his witnesses despite A - The TRO was denied from what filings we could find, and B - Greer never made any mention of it until Hardin attempted to contact the witnesses.

Hardin asked for every single lawsuit and related Greer was involved in. Greer said "Sorry, I don't got shit, here's a list, oh, and I can send you the restraining order.", Hardin said "ok, where is it"

And here we are.... more or less.
