What would you use your $5000 on, hypothetically? Anybody could answer this.
Some renovations for my parents home, likely towards renovating their master bathroom.

The more I think about it the more I prefer getting the $5,000 back. Why? It's a number not big enough to completely splurge on, but it's that right amount to get something you wanted to start going. In many cases this is construction or white goods. And this is an easy way for construction and HVAC to basically offset the initial pain of having to hire and pay more for legal work and even as prices change due to things moving back to American manufacturing. The money can't be like Kamablah's stupid 25k home credit which would just raise the prices of every home 25k, so companies would still have to compete on quality and price, but you're going to have less resistance from people when they have an extra 5,000 to get the roof done, or a new AC unit installed, etc. The customer won't be such a bitch, and the contractor won't be such a cost cutting cheap faggot (except if you live in california they'll just cut 1 less corner)

One of the weirdest parts of the exposing of USAID and the shadow networks of NGOs spreading chaos on the American dime is the revelation that Gonzalo Lira was entirely correct when he called a room of Ukrainian journalists "system pigs" for being paid to spread propaganda.

Maybe he really was killed by Ukraine (or they intentionally let him die, more likely).
Dude, he was in Kiev streaming in a hotel lobby talking all kinds of shit about the Ukrainians, and the police talked to him and told him to keep his fucking head down.

What did he do? He went to fucking Kharkiv, which was on the front line. He did everything he could to raise red flags, if I was a Ukrainian I would have kicked his ribs in myself.

Gonzalo Lira committed suicide for clicks

Can somebody cite the source of where Trump or Elon said $5000 would come back to the taxpayer? I don't want to be THAT guy and misunderstand or hold somebody to something they didn't even say.

Here: there was an earlier post iirc as well as one which just the video uploaded to the forums.

Pay off the last bit of my medical debt then security deposit on a bigger place in a cheaper area so my family can simultaneously grow and more quickly save for a house.
In all seriously, that $5000 could help with my student loan debt and I could put the rest away in savings. Actually, you know what? That could be a vacation fund to travel somewhere for a couple days.

He was never wrong. Early in the Ukraine conflict, the U.S. federal government ramped up the astroturfing to levels never seen before.

People saying the $5000 for every taxpayer should go to the debt is missing the point, it makes the money real

You can tell people "We saved $5000 worth for every taxpayer" but if the money doesn't hit your account, do you give a shit? Especially if it gets reinvested in the debt, so for the individual, everything goes on the same as if $0 were saved?

People have said before that if employers didn't withhold tax, but you got the full amount and then had to save it and write a huge check every year, that would make it real and the average person would demand to know how every cent of their tax dollars are being spent and be more outraged at waste, vs "I dunno, I got the same amount in the bank I always do and I hear on the news some money I never get did something or other that didn't hurt me either way, so whatever."

$5000 DOGE savings returned to every taxpayer would be the same in reverse. Everyone who gets the $5000 and spends it on something they always wanted or needed but couldn't get will think "THIS is how much of my money the government was wasting? What the fuck were they wasting it on? I'll NEVER vote again for any politician that wants to go back to wasting MY $5000 every year!"

Then when they hear on the news some government program wasted a trillion dollars, they'll think "How much of MY money did that just waste? How many new computers/car payments/apartment deposits of MINE was that worth?"

Very well said. Hell, even $1500 would be a genius political maneuver and would do wonders for getting the non-chronically online demcorats on DOGE's side. I feel like this has a high likelihood of happening now that they've overtly come out and said that they're considering it knowing that the people would start to anticipate it, optics are super key right now to justify these audits and it would be a major blunder if they can't deliver.

Anyone could use their $5000 on anything they want. After all, it’s their money that was stolen by the government that’s just being given back to them. Now someone could use it to buy stupid shit or useful shit, it’s really just up to them.
I don't own any weapons, but I would suggest you buy weapons and ammunition with that money.
Actually you know what, I do still need to buy a gun. I don’t have one yet.

Oh shit, you're right.

I want to get a revolver and call it Joan. A more elegant weapon from a simpler time. Of course, THAT would be for display purposes.

I hear good things about Glocks for home defense and conceal carries.

Could put it towards the chicken coop I've been wanting to buy and still have plenty left over for chickens, could put it towards paying off some debts I owe, could use it pay a little extra on my mortgage, could invest it, honestly, what couldn't I do with $5k?

The problem with moving so fast is that now they're throwing out ideas that sometimes contradict their previous stated goals.

5 thousand to every voter would blow a hole in the deficit that is as big as the one they're trying to close. 500 would be very doable and could be thought of as a "tariff dividend".

Libs are dancing at the Kennedy Center to protest the Trump takeover.

Why do they do this? Am I too autistic to understand, or are they too retarded to have a working theory of mind for other people? I get they might not think this signals anything to their opponents, maybe it is an in-group signal, but are there really people out there who see this cringe shit and are moved by it? I feel like this is all a performance for a non-existent audience.
