It's still kind of insane to me that he has barely fucking streamed since his arrest. It's not surprising, but it's incredible to me that he's gone from daily streams (which were drunken disasters, but still daily nonetheless) to just sitting in comment sections and live chats for hours. At least Ralph kept steaming after his revenge porn charges got dropped; for Nick this is pathetic.
The nepotism thing is a really big misconception. People seem to think Francis gave his daughter a leading role because he wanted her to become a famous actress. In reality, Winona Ryder was supposed to play the role but she ended up having a mental breakdown, so Francis had to ask his daughter, as a favour, to play the role because he literally couldn't find anyone else. Sofia has gone on record saying she never wanted to be an actress and it was just because her father begged her to do it. And while it's not a good performance from someone who obviously has no experience in acting, Keanu Reeves in Dracula (directed by Coppola two years later) is far worse of a performance in my mind.
The incest thing is weird, I will give you that, but I like the idea of it being an older, repentant Michael. That's the other big misconception about III, that's it's meant to be Godfather III instead of an epilogue. Coppola and Mario Puzo wanted to call it "The Death of Michael Corleone" to signify it was a different story, and that "The Godfather" was a two part story, but the studio insisted they call it Godfather III. That's why the 2020 re-release is called "The Godfather Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone."
And yes, I wrote that opening paragraph to be about Nick Rekeita so this entire post can still be classified as on-topic and won't be deleted but allows me to rant about Godfather III/Coda. Nick Rekieta would never be repentant like Michael Corleone is in that film. It would be like Michael telling Pope John Paul I that Fredo deserved to die because he was an incel prude who didn't enjoy fun.
