Best class(es) to play as?

On the earlier topic of nospread Im not a fan. Its a direct nerf to spread weapons to appease people who make it out to be much worse than what it is. I've never once died to a scout and thought to myself "I only died because of bullet spread rng".

Random crits I can understand. I'm indifferent to them but I can see where people come from when hating on them
On randomness, I think a certain amount of randomness in a game is okay as long as the feature is predictably random. Shotguns always have spread, every time they are fired. You can expect them to behave in that way.

Totally different feeling when you and three other team mates get anhilated by a crocket that otherwise would have dealt 45 damage. Or a turn 1 Exodia. Or turn 0 flash hulk. Etc.

Trying to come up with other examples of random one-shots in gaming, its actually pretty hard to think of more egregious example than a TF2 random crit. In terms of ubiquity and impact. They are rare enough that you can't really play around them, but just common enough that they seem to come up all the time. I could get why someone enjoys them, but they arent my cup of tea.

Unpopular but I saw this concept I really like a while back. Not sure what you guys think of it but it feels a lot cleaner than the current HUD while staying true to the art direction. Check it out.
This honestly looks pretty good, the matchmaking map selection looks infinitely better than what we currently have solely on the basis of actually being able to see a map preview. The main menu looks reasonably clean. Although, my nitpicks is that I feel like something is a bit missing with the class/team selection (the merc photos are a nice touch, but something feels missing without the chalk board), and the in-game HUD doesn't look that touched up compared to everything else.

On the topic of UI, I think that the game could do better with improving it's UI to reasonably work well on a controller, but I'm also aware that any of the Source Engine multiplayer games before CS:GO don't have the gamepadui, HUD aspect ratio constraints, or other improvements from the HL2 Steam Deck update merged yet.

Random crits are fair and balanced when I get them but when anyone else gets them they're unfun and need to be removed

I guarantee you we'll one day see a custom TF2 client on Steam with a built in slur blocker that checks every message you send, and if you send any kind of "wrongthink", they'll add your Steam ID to a blacklist so the client refuses to work for you.
If that client ever existed then most of the playerbase wouldn't ever be able to play the game.

People never seem to mention that random crits, despite the name, aren't really random. They scale with your current DPS and your melee swings have a higher chance to 'randomly' crit. This means that people are doing well get more random crits and are allowed to steamroll the opposing team.

Random crits may allow a compfag soldier medic combo to get more kills with crits for a 50+ killstreak but the same mechanic allows a fresh install to lob a crit nade out of the blue and send those faggots back to spawn.

Get rid of crits and the stacks and combos would accrue their killstreaks without fear of random death

are you being a retard nigger on purpose or what?
even if that percentage increases it's still a percentage that will never reach 100% thus they're still random by default, and unless you're using tools to cheat crits in you're not steamrolling people with them, you're steamrolling them because you or your team have an idea of what you're doing

This is cope and rewarding people for a 3% chance at a crocket is bad game design.

Skill issue.

Okay, so if I weight my dice so that 6's appear more often as I got them, are we still operating under the assumption of randomness?

God, you people are just insufferable faggots. No wonder Valve ignores you people.

yes because the weights here don't enforce a 6?
do you even know what the word random in random crits means?

no you're just a tourist that doesn't know how to understand percentages, read a math book and fuck off proper

Understood, you are a compfag who wants to play the same match over and over and anything that interrupts your discord gf (male) getting a killstreak is bad

You retard, it's still random, but you can affect the odds.

ITT: people seething about their own skill issue
no you're just a tourist that doesn't know how to understand percentages, read a math book and fuck off proper
>um actually 12% doesn't meant 12%
It's random but it's no longer even or equal between players, which is dumb
>it's random but you can increase your chance by doing better
Understood, you are a compfag who wants to play the same match over and over and anything that interrupts your discord gf (male) getting a killstreak is bad
>NOOOOOOOO YOU'RE HAVING FUN THE WRONG WAY!!!!
You retard, it's still random, but you can affect the odds.
>yes, crits directly effect your chance to get more crits, but doesn't mean it isn't random

By the way, ignoring that melee caps out at a higher than coin flip chance doesn't change the fact that it's a higher than coin flip chance.

sperging about people having fun with random crits is a new level of lack of self-awareness
You're literally sperging out at me for not liking random crits like this thread wasn't in agreement that it was a bad system 3 pages earlier. Who's the one that lacks selfawareness? :story:
Kindly kill yourself and leave the thread in that order.
This is some reddit-tier seething.
>YOU HAVE WRONGTHINK, SO YOU MUST LEAVE!!!!
Or what? You'll keep being mad that someone likes a slightly modified version of a game? Boy, I bet you do the same thing to people who mod Skyrim to add hunger/temperature mechanics.
