Russian Special Military Operation in the Ukraine - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

geez someone make this guy stop https://x.com/JDVance/status/1892957461423718598; Edit changed post to his other one.
At this point we might as well just keep an eye on him. His posts of Ukraine will never win to pro-ukraine users is like telling troons they will never be women.
Completely disagree. You call it like it is or the nigger cattle just won't get it. Water is wet. Troons will never be real women. Ukraine is losing

The west post WW2 hates the soviets, and any story involving them will always have some sort of bias or exaggeration, who knows the reality of it.
As you say, the fact that the Soviets were insanely evil and needed to be contained for the good of humanity crashes headlong into the "muh good war" mythmaking that's overtaken the tacky, tragic affair that was WW2. The fact that everyone who had to choose between the Nazis and the Soviets almost universally chose the former has always been a bit of a plot hole in that heroic tale.

My post was a shitpost and not to be taken seriously.
Look at it, laugh at it, then say "what a fucking retarded take", then laugh at it some more.

(But yeah, there are some people that unironically do not fear WW3 and think that a WW3 can be won)

They think everything is an argument on the internet, where there's no real consequences for being wrong and you can assume maximalist positions for fun, because it doesn't really matter. The idea that the ego-stroking and dick-sucking would translate into a world-ending calamity if implemented just doesn't register (academia also has this problem.)

After switching back from war economy to peace mode, I hope they go back to Syria with all that extra military gear and firepower with all the extra bodies they have from the war just to make the same users on the pro-ukraine war thread seethe about it later. :story:
We urgently need Total Jihadist Death in Syria rn.

Please just leave the other thread where it is. We dont need those people anywhere near us.
There is some serious TDS fights going on there and not really so much ukraine talk.
I don't think that thread is going anywhere, regardless of if the war continues forever or peace breaks out tomorrow.
Trump will still be there and that is the main focus on discussion there anyway.

Just rename it to "Everything Trump does is bad and all his voters are brainwashed racists"

Or rename it to "comp.politics.america.trump.advocacy" and treat it as a containment thread where everyone with serious TDS will self segregate to.

One of the narratives is that Russia on multiple occasions during WW2 attempted to invade and conquer Finland only to get their asses kicked by epic snipers. No one likes to talk about who the Nordic people were willing to align themselves with, or that Finland made a push east when Germany did.

The USSR invaded Finland, took a chunk of land, stopped/was stopped, whatever story you wish to follow. Finland attacked when Germany did, attempting to reclaim territory and more. They got beat back and lost even more land. By the end of WW2 they lost 9% of their land, and many lives.

The west post WW2 hates the soviets, and any story involving them will always have some sort of bias or exaggeration, who knows the reality of it.

From June 22 1941 to September 2 1945, the Red Army liberated all of Europe, put down the literally Hitlers, and ended racism forever, any talks about how they wouldn't have survived without endless American industrial support simply serves to make the evil Nazis seem more competent than they actually were, as they simply lucked into conquering most of Europe.

The moment the calendar turned to September 3, 1945, the USSR became a true Evil Empire as they opposed our heckking wholesome Trotskyists Liberal Freedom fighters and the rules based world order.

They also leave out everything that went BEFORE the invasion of Finland, and pretend that those mean Soviets just wanted to conquer Finland because… Reasons.

Leningrad, a major urban center of great strategic importance was just twenty miles from the Finnish border.

Finland, had been a part of the Russian empire for over a century, and had gained their independence when Russia was engulfed in a civil war, and couldn’t really argue with where borders would be drawn.

Given those facts, the Soviet Union wanted security for Leningrad, and suggested moving the border further west near Leningrad, IN RETURN for a land swap further north where it wasn’t a security issue. Overall, Finland stood to gain from the land swap, as the territory the SU was willing to cede to Finland, was twice as large as the territory they wanted from Finland.

The Finns refused the offer, though the government was divided and even Mannerheim thought they should take it.

So left out of options and worrying about a war in the near future with either Germany or the Allies, the Soviet Union went to war.

Ultimately, the concessions the Finns had to make after losing the war, was far worse than the deal they had been offered in the autumn of 1939.

TLDR: The winter war against Finland was caused as much by Finns being retards as
it was by Tussian territorial ambitions.

Unfortunately, after having some sense slapped into them after WW2, the Finns have returned to being retarded having learned absolutely fuck all.

The funny part of this is that I can almost see the little faggots counting to three with their fingers to coordinate the SALIVA UKULELE cry. They must have cringed so hard filming this.

Propaganda is such a shithow. Remember the Cook turning from warmonger to freedom fighter overnight? How do people just swallow this?

Many people don't know that soviets' fears weren't completely baseless.
Viipuri massacre
Also the Finnish army planned several expeditions to capture more land near Petrograd during the civil war.

Viena expedition

It's a complex question, between the independence and Cold War politics. Finland during the Cold War played a fairly successful game of neutrality and realpolitik (much like other minors like Austria) trying to appease his powerful neighbor without leaving too much of its own independence on the floor. This meant that Finland was widely shat upon during the Cold War for "appeasement" to Soviet Tyranny because it didn't engage in a suicide run. One could argue it paid well long term, because Finn politics understood their capabilities and position.

After the Cold War ended there was essentially no reason to fear Russia, an essential failed state during the 90ies. So the memes of "Finns fiercely resisting the barbaric Muscovite Hordes" took hold and memes being what they are, you got the peculiar fetishization of "Unbroken Finnish Resistance" and all the frankly cringe that follows. Much like the Baltic Butthurt Belt or the Poles, if the Finns are those ultimate anti-Russian warriors they can freely send some thousands of soldiers to the frontline to eat drones in the face, pay for it, and leave other Euros to avoid wasting our already limited budget in harebrained schemes. I mean, that would be proper, at last they'll prove their words and heritage right.

On a more serious point, I'd wonder if Cold War Finland would not have been a good example for Ukraine in this era. Sure, the war is a tragedy and between Russian failure to end it fast and the West using the Ukrops as suicide troops this has degenerated into a complete mess, but one wonders if it could have been played smartly and Ukraine could have benefited from Euro gibs/Russian military oversight if their political class maneuvered well. Oh well, impossible dreams are impossible dreams.
