According to her, her mother's boyfriend was "creepy" to her and her relationship with her mother is shaky as well. I am inclined to believe her story somewhat about the boyfriend, since I believe we found who it was and he had a rap sheet for theft.

She is really only a danger to her self and is already in therapy. So she is taking the right course.

While true, it's still important to have a parent to steer you in a good direction until you're at least on your own. You'll also tend to rely on them for quite some time after, sometimes into your 30's. This doesn't mean living at home, more like teaching you skills, like how to fix a door frame, be there to listen to your problems, and make suggestions, as well as how to look out for potential scams with cars or other things.

Question to fellow Kiwi's, this a good idea for me to follow? Because I tend to give a loooot of leway for stupidity for teens, and am probably nice to a fault with kids who lose close family when young due to similar experiences.
