We should have let the Japanese "clean the slate" before driving them off the Philippines. That way we would have gotten a second Hawaii without a bunch of ungrateful Buk-Buk Mongrols shitting up the world with their impotent jungle "culture".
As much as we tried to civilize you guys, we could tell by the early 30s that it would only create an "Empire of Dust" situation. Similar to how annexing all of Mexico in 1848 would only bring in a bunch of brown cretins, we instead annexed the good parts and left the others to rot. Not enough good clean land was left in the Philippines, so it was better to let it be an autonomous colony, we could siphon the few natural resources it had for ten years afterward before cutting the umbilical cord. Japan failed us when they decided to wait on their genocide plans so the núlì remained. The burden continues to this day.
Still, there is a silver lining to this whole ordeal what with the massively declining birthrate over there. Just wait it out until the 2030s. Worked for the Spanish, Chinese, and Malaysians.
