Community Munchausen's by Internet (Malingerers, Munchies, Spoonies, etc) - Feigning Illnesses for Attention

As for the hypochondria vs munchie…
Hypochondria = that feeling you get after researching your cough on WebMD
Munchie = faking a cough to get out of school
Faking a cough to get out of school is malingering, not munching. Malingerers do what they do for material gain - getting out of work or school, disability fraud, gofundme scams, etc. Munching is where they do what they do for attention and sympathy and usually involves harming yourself to induce symptoms - this is why so many munchies die, they learn to inject poo water into themselves to induce sepsis, and sepsis can be pretty killy.

Munching and malingering overlap of course, a lot of munchies grift for free stuff, but it's primarily about attention and emotional need rather than material need.

I really don't think Autie experiences psychosis except maybe as an extremely transient symptom of her incredibly obvious BPD due to her total inability to emotionally regulate. She has always wildly exaggerated and been a huge larper. This is just another ploy to get attention because apparently being pregnant with a very ill-advised baby isn't enough. Nothing ever is for Autie.
I agree with you that I don't think she's currently psychotic, but it's probably closer to her actual symptoms than anything else she ever claimed.
She went really crazy shortly before she lost custody of her son. However, I think it might be based on her short-lived DID arc and not her actually crazy episodes. Trying to make psychosis sound tragic-sad-but-pretty is always so hilarious. You are not a pretty girl torn between two realities, you are a crazy lady screaming at people at the bus stop. I guess Auntie was the latter even before her psychosis arc. Those were the days!

Tune in next time when Tilly asks the question on everyone's mind: "Is it porphyria yet?"

Goddamn she's so hysterically incompetent! Her baby kitten shivering DTs are adorable. Poor widdle puddy tat.

If she had a Hepatic (liver mediated, fucks up heme synthesis) Porphyria, a disease that is super hard to fake, they'd have found biochemical markers in her blood, fecal, and/or urine for the specific type. They know the gene locations of the enzymes for each step of the heme synthesis process so if she had a de-novo and completely unknown mutation it would be of note. Unfortunately for the dim witted princess parsnip the genetics are pretty well understood. Again not everyone with mutation gets sick.

Her motiviation is that Acute Intermitten Porphyria (AIP) is known to be a painful condition that might open the door to fancy pain medications (opiates, dilaudid, etc). Again she's too retarded to know the triggers for AIP include alcohol and fasting which is a bit odd since she appears to be an anorexic with a healthy sprinkle of Instagram ready cocktails.

Also, the psychiatric problem where someone perceives everyone as monsters, which is called prosopometamorphopsia (PMO), also sometimes referred to as "demon face syndrome" was extensively covered in the media around 6-8 months ago or so.
I imagine that Autie took note of it then but had to wait for a while before she started talking about it so people don't realise she's copying.
Unfortunately, her BPD/lack of theory of mind has made her unable to recognize that other people are able to understand what she is trying to poorly imitate, and remember exactly where she heard about this very rare neurological condition and when.

Clearly, she just wants clicks. She'll take them from self-dx zoomers or from people clicking to tell her it is nonsense. But also, what does this have to do with the thread? Did I miss something? I'm down for the harnessing of 'tism for good here on KF, but is there something special about this girl? I mean it seems like all the zoomers self dx based off of TikTok or however they consume content. They're like early psych or med students who think they have everything they read about, only much dumber.

This person has made more than 15 posts on random threads in the past thirty minutes. Can we no longer mute people? I do it so rarely...I can't find the option right now.

Community Watch has an Autism Movement Thread:
https://kiwifarms.st/threads/autistic-culture-movement-neurodiversity.10779/
As well as a Plural/DID Thread:
https://kiwifarms.st/threads/plurals-clusters-systems.49326/

I think a thread about mental illness fakers in the Beauty Parlour would be pretty neat, but posting them here in the munchie thread is not the way to go.
I think cows that fake both are fine, but in that case you would have to give a bit more context.

A good way to tell if you've been on the Farms too long is to answer the question "what was your brain's first interpretation of 'CBT' in this sentence?"

I have been on the Farms too long.
Sure it may not be right for everyone but CBT can have a huge life impact on a lot of very troubled people.

Sorry I've never read this thread much before, it seems like people just genuinely doing shit like this (image attached above) but for attention and money that's fucking insane, reading that someone went through multiple blood bags for no discernable reason, I cannot imagine what lies these people have told to keep the ruse going

This makes me miss Ren, and her sellotaped on "IVs".
I wonder what shit she is trying to pull now...

I've not yet gone through this entire thread, so I apologize if this has been talked about recently, but have people noticed an uptick of cane-wielders in the general population? Especially on college campuses? It feels as if in the past year I've seen at least 15 women around 20 years of age sporting rainbow hair taking horse doses of testosterone whilst House M.D. hobbling with a medical cane.

I was forced to attend an event for a necessary elective recently where writing students are invited to share work they are most proud of (these people cannot write), and a very anorexic anemic looking lady took up 25 minutes of time to read a 4-page essay on her POTS, comparing herself to Olympic gold medalist Katie Ledecky asking herself rhetorically where her own medal is on days where she can go to the grocery store for five minutes at a time. She did all of this while sitting down.

It seems, at least to me and I'm sure to many of you on this thread, that the diseases and conditions that these people suffer with are symptoms of generic, easily fixable problems, such as being underweight and/or having social anxiety.

It's hard not to ask, but I don't want to end up with a cane up my ass.
