Being the husband of the office fleshlight, they were forced to give into his request
They were not an item at this time. She was still dating Aaron iirc, which still begs the question of how he had the political capital to take it over. My personal guess is none of the actual funny people wanted to be the boss

I know Geoff basically was de-facto boss for years, to the point he wrote out a schedule on a desk calender of what to do. My theory is that at that point everyone was past the honeymoon phase, and Geoff especially was sick of being boss and wanted to go back to doing his own thing. Trevor was in the perfect place at the perfect time.

Which really cements Ray's shock of "how could you let this happen" hurt for Michael, cause Michael definitely realized by that point yeah, I let this happen.

I could be mistaken, but I think Trevor was dating someone in HR at the time because everyone at RT only dates in the company apparently.

Honest question, what specifically did Trevor do that fucked up the brand that much? I stopped watching after Ray left, but there were one or two years after that with just Jeremy and Matt when it was OK before the new blood came rushing in right?
All of what Pizdec and Crescent Fresh said plus the guy was just plain creepy, seriously just look at how he behaved during any of the AH videos all cutesy and shit.

His demeanor and voice bothered me, a lot. It wasn't annoying like Fiona, but Trevor's voice... it bothered me, a lot. It didn't feel natural to come out of a guy whose is 6ft.
Wasn't Lindsay the boss for a while too before Trevor?
She was, I just realized, and she got hazed and took it stride compared to Trevor. I also found out (in reading the wiki, for however reliable that is) Jeremy and Matt were the reasons why Trevor even got hired. So if you wanted a reason to hate Jeremy more, and hate Trevor for what eventually happend to Matt, there you go.

Edit: I just remembered, wasn't there a prank video on Matt or Alfredo about their desk, and when they turn to quip at Trevor, Trevor fired back with "I can fire you", which immediately shut them up? And I remember Trevor's tone was not joking, he was annoyed, like he thought they were gonna prank him back for being a part of it.

Can she sell that RWBY merch though? Like, she is the voice of Ruby Rose, but she doesn't own the rights to the IP, couldn't someone sue her for selling items related to an IP she has no rights to?
She isn't the one selling the items, the company is. She's just autographing it (for a fee, most likely) and then sending it back over - probably in stacks of ~250.

I think it's legal to resell IP items (as they are either just fanart or existing merch) as long as they're legally sourced. The company is the one taking on that liability though - although I would be surprised if there isn't some carve out for Voice Actors in standard contracts that they have limited uses of the character IPs.

Even if not - no company wants to be the absolute shit piles that target voice actors/real actors for autograph signing at cons, so it's an unspoken rule in any case.
So he’s really just moving there to hang out with his mods? Sheesh. I was trying to be a bit optimistic but now I’m seriously wondering why even bother.
Seattle, while being an absolute shitpile of a place, is considered a "content creator hub"/"Gaming Content Hub". Lots of Let's players, streamers, game devs, and so on live there. If you were to consider moving somewhere to be a "content creator" - Seattle is on the short list. If he's sick of Texas, it's basically Seattle or LA.

Twitch itself is based out of Seattle, as is Nintendo and a smattering of other studios as well. Assuming Ray isn't retarded - being there isn't the worst idea imaginable and doubly so if he already has some people there he likes.

He became the boss. No fucking idea WHY they made him the boss of AH, yet they did, and he was the boss while all the bad shit was going on.

There is nothing which can better sum up how shit he was as a boss than the actual collapse of AH: He decided to shut it down - yes, AH was dead like half a year before RT itself - because he, Micheal, Alfredo, and some Asian dude they hired wanted to make a SKETCH COMEDY channel instead, named Dogbark, which immediately failed because they were awful at comedy. I’d link it, yet Trevor and the Asian got kicked out, all the videos were deleted, and it was rebranded to an LP channel for Alfredo and Micheal, instead.
Unlisted yes, deleted no. Here's a link to the archive if any of you want to see. I promise you're not missing out on much though.

It's because he's a skin walker. Nothing he does feels natural, it feels like he's copying the people around him.
I actually sat down and watched some of the old behind the games vids, and a lot of what he does screams sociopathy, almost Patrick Bateman-y. He definitely sounds out of place as a uni-grad amongst a bunch of gamer dudes.
I would like to also note something once again that amuses me with how much shit Matt took to be a part of AH: they did a Smash Tourney where if you lost, you threw a moon ball at Matt's desk. Inevitably, something probably broke.

I can't remember if it was HR specifically but yeah he was dating someone else. There were rumors going around RT fan twitter (it was a dark time, don't judge me) that he cheated on her with Barbara and Barbara cheated on Aaron with Trevor.

He implemented the "Cut the 1 hour video into 5 parts" policy during a time where they were trying to figure out the YouTube algorithm. Yet he and the community mods got mad when people pointed out the GTA 5 & Minecraft videos were left alone.

Shortly thereafter he implemented the "Watch the whole unedited video on the RT site!!!" Y'all remember the site with the broken video player they refuse to fix? That was the start of the "their views must be falling HARD" times.

Any news on this getting a continuation with the relaunch?

I think that's a big part of it. Geoff gave up the manager position to Lindsay, who held it for a year or so and did a pretty good job in spite of Ray's departure. While I had issues with her trying to be one of the boys back when she was in AH videos and not really fitting until she found her groove, nor trying to get better at games, she understood what made the brand and group work, and did that. Then she had Iris, and decided she wanted to be a mother to her actual child instead of the man children in the office.

I assume Jack was too lazy to do the job, Ryan's family lived in another city and he wanted to be able to go see them, Michael was almost as popular as Ray and so needed to stay as talent, Gavin was also too lazy, Ray was gone, Kerry was writing RWBY, and then you had Jeremy and Matt who were too new. There really was no one in AH who could do the job. Unfortunately, that just meant someone who had no idea what he was doing, and was too thin skinned to fit in properly, and refused to admit that he was the wrong person for the job despite his new hires never being accepted, or his ideas for videos not getting views.

There were probably better people for the job at RT, but Trevor was able to fail upwards until everything he touched turned to shit.

On the topic of Achievement Hunters collapse, it’s still crazy to me that they hired Andrew Blanchard. From my memory listening to the internet box back in the day he had no applicable skills other than being friends with Michael.
Which is why he was the first one fired when AH got downsized. It was always pretty cringy when Michael would talk about how his mom would text him (Michael) thanking him for getting Half-a-handy Andy a job and letting him live with him and not at home with mommy and daddy. I would have never shown my face on camera again if somebody came out and openly admitted my Mom thinks I'm a failure and was happy he had a successful friend he could mooch off of.

It's even worse when you compare him to Mike, who went on to do things outside of The Internet Box. Mikecast did not stop until 2023, and that was of his own Volition. Even worse, The Internet Box subreddit is still active.

Had a worse understanding of the YouTube algorithm than a brain damaged squirrel high on meth.

Achievement Hunter also got fucked with RT side-projects that meant the people who were actually entertaining went long periods without being in videos and you were left with a motley assortment of who-the-fuck-cares. Combine this with Trevor's enshittening and the I-hate-Trump-and-Republicans-and-everyone-must-know era and you have a perfect mix for turbo-fucking your audience.
