Supposedly it was related to alcoholism. Very sad either way.
ETA; after seeing some of her "final" posts on Instagram, it definitely seems like it was alcohol related. She looked exactly like people I've known who died under similar circumstances.

It would also explain her lashing out at other people noticing her health problems. Alcoholics try to hide it until they die, but they usually can’t. I dealt with it with a family member of mine until she died.
She had a difficult time with Joss Whedon as a teenager as well.
I’ve seen adult pictures of her, but my mind always defaults to her as a child and teenager on Pete and Pete and Buffy.

Friendly reminder that women suffer from liver failure due to alcoholism much, much faster than men do. This is very sad and the amount that you have to drink to cause liver failure in general is legendary. She was great on The Adventures of Pete & Pete.

An all-time great actor. Made it to a very good age, but it's weird that he didn't pass from what seems to be natural causes. at that age.
