I was cycling through channels and caught a BBC news bit where some old bong reporter brought up how the US is going to support them when they send troops into the Ukraine just like we did during Falklands because America always backs up the UK. I watched out of morbid curiosity and they acted like Sir Starmer totally schooled Orange Man on what's what. Surreal.

If this sounds unrealistic just remember that around this time last year when Macron was first floating the idea of sending peacekeepers about 80 French "mercenaries" got killed in a missile strike and the only media companies that bothered to cover it for a few days before they promptly stopped talking about it were French ones, and even then they primarily focused on how amongst the dead was the latest heir of a military family who served France for generations (but whose line was destined to die with him, just like his boyfriend who also got killed in the strike)
