Trump doesn't have to declare war by the way. He's not Jesus, he can't turn water into wine nor can he part the waters. He's just the president of the United States.

Yeah, he has power to declare a war. Yeah, times are different but then again, history repeats itself.

I'm curious as to how you would handle Russia invading Ukraine if you were in that position of power from 2020-present?
I think what we did was good. Just supply them with weapons. It worked well enough, the Russians never advanced past the very eastern fringes of Ukraine and it took like 4 years and hundreds of thousands of deaths.

inviting them to nato could’ve caused some real shit, like Russia might’ve allied with China and all their middle eastern friends.

Like I get it, those things are uncomfortable as all hell and frankly, quite unnecessary
As a daily suit-and-tie nigga, I hard disagree. Wearing a nice suit makes you look and feel good.
Besides even if he was looking to Europe for more meat to stick into the grinder that mirage was dispelled when they held that conference a couple of weeks back. The UK only has 30,000 combat ready infantry and the other euro nations aren't looking much better. This is all just a grift at this point.
Any rational person knows this, but almost all European leaders are delusional. They're tearfully tweeting out "slava ukraini" right now. It makes absolutely no sense unless they're actually deluded about their ability to do anything in Ukraine without America.

It pays to know the customs of the people you visit. At home, Zelensky wears those sorta-fatigues because it shows his commitment to the armed forces and how he isn’t just a politician-suit there to grift.
In America, him showing up in that is exactly what makes him seem like a politician just there to grift, instead of a leader there to lead.

Massive cultural oversight that literally anyone who thought about it for more than a second could realise. Someone on his team needs to be fired immediately and he should turn up immaculately tailored tomorrow with an apology and no demands. (But it won’t happen.)
You know he could have just worn a camo maga hat

Only Congress has the authority to declare war.

One of my coworkers said they needed to rant (unusual as everyone knows I don't talk about politics at work) and then spent ten minutes talking about how Zelensky being invited to the US was just a trap to humiliate him, and Trump was an asshole to him. They mentioned how all these euros came and were trying to be diplomatic then Trump came in and were completely unprofessional.
I just nodded and continued working while listening until they finally said "Glad I got that out" and left.

Sure, sure, sure, Zelensky will blackmail, coerce, cajole, demand, whine, and scream for more money from anyone who will entertain him and act as though he's been betrayed when they say the gibs have dried up. Okay he may send his people into an industrial meat grinder and sustain a war for money and ego. Yeah okay he'll turn his country into a crater just so he can say he didn't "give up" and force his people to fight with no way out until there's no one left.

But at least he's not rude.

It's not even him not wearing a suit that's the problem. Like I get it, those things are uncomfortable as all hell and frankly, quite unnecessary. It's just that the outfits he wears give off heavy "tryhard fag trying to seem tough" vibes. Showing up in a hoodie and jeans would've been better.
If a suit is that uncomfortable, it doesn't fit right.
