probably Poland, then maybe Sweden and Finland, at their war strengths.

Poland is in no way a great military. The size of the army is constantly misreported as being larger than it actually is. Its an army of 100k more or less not trained to a high standard and alot of its equipment is second-rate stuff.

Sweden has no army to speak of. These days, its a total joke. The regular standing army is around 7k maybe.

Finland's military is designed to train conscripts to be reservists. It would be great if they had maybe a year or so to get ready for a war..

What happened is Putin was able to stay retarded long enough to jury rig a alternative and find a way to handle the sanctions. Russia's economy took a hard hit, let us not kid ourselves, but they were supposed to be dead on the water. Instead the current Russia is now better isolated from the global market and better able to deal with sanctions, and other countries like China have taken clues and are working to have backups based on Russian ideas on how to possibly deal with such economic sanctions in the future. They used their ultimate financial weapon and failed.
They just took over all the franchises of the Multinational corporations based before the sanctions and ran them on their own ie. McDonalds, Starbucks etc.. Had to restart a lot of domestic light industry for ubiquitous products they were used to importing ie. generic pharma, spare parts, tools, components, fast fashion, ag-imports etc... They even had their own financial structure rebuilt with their own payment processors, credit cards, new banking overtures to China etc...

The sanctions forced them to shift their trading through central asian countries and China instead. Just look at the trade balance of any shithole -stan nation over the past few years and it's crazy lol. They really must be seething at how their ultimate snake move just drove them into the arms of the Chinese wholesale.

The sanctions against Russia were supposed to absolutely destroy their economy. It was the first time in decades the global economy really was shattered and a country was getting kicked out of it. The idea was to forcefully collapse Russia.

It failed.
now i don't want you to get the wrong idea from this. putin and jinping have spent years and billions and billions of their own currency to have an emergency option in place. russia's economy may not be completely in the mud, but it's certainly not as strong as it could have been without those sanctions in place. the contexts involved here are very important.

All these liberals will stop flailing about Yoo Crane when Trump drops support and there's nothing they can do about it. This is their most recent attempt to punish Americans for electing Trump and it's not going to work. Either Zelenskyy begs for forgiveness and strikes a peace deal, or Russia finishes off Ukraine - which was never a NATO ally - and the rest of Europe either takes NATO and US security guarantees seriously or they also throw a fit about Trump. I hope for the former, but it's starting to look like the latter. They can cry about Russia all they want but it does not matter when they're next door and the US is their only security guarantee.

This scene is very relevant:

Also, @Justa Grata Honoria was right again about the Europeans. I did not see this coming at all, but here we are.

The only other countries that this would possibly concern are Israel and Taiwan. Israel doesn’t care since AIPAC is effective and Taiwan is already restricted from the good stuff in order to not scare China.

Everyone else treats arms deals as a one time sale and they aren’t afraid to shop at other “stores”.

That video creator is an example of the “talent” in our defense contractors since the end of the Cold War. A bunch of midwits who believe that because they know some obscure self-created jargon, they’re geniuses. Physiognomy is real, and someone who is a fatass is unlikely to be a competent military strategist (compare him physically to Hegseth for example).

Also, Ryan Mcbeth (the video creator) is a “software architect”, which is a do-nothing bureaucratic position that real software companies did away with before the Dot Com crash. His job is to draw some flowcharts that the actual software engineers underneath him ignore because they’re useless and irrelevant. You won’t find anyone with that title or role at any of the FANGs for good reason.
Will there ever come a day where we have the balls to give the same verbal smackdown to Israel and Bibi? Hopium?

If my idiot government decided to goad Russia into an invasion, I would rather my own government collapse than be forced to fight for it.
Biden told Putin that he could have a spoonful of invasion and that in part has led to Trump putting in effort to gut the deep state and he doesn't want American blood and treasure to go into fighting for Ukraine, so if you're American that's basically what happened.

Is this a thing under NATO rules? It's a private company so maybe it is technically allowed? Do these fuckers know what they are playing with?
If they're talking about US forces stationed in Norway I'm pretty certain they are there as part of efforts with NATO.

So it's entirely possible this was an incredibly stupid move.

I finally know what zelenskys dresses like. Red letter media has a concept of "black tank top movies" where a middle aged man will direct or write his own movie about a badass action hero the ladies love where he plays the badass hero. It's always a bad movie and the middle aged action hero usually wears a black tank top and has some local actress he paid to kiss him and call him a hot hunk.

That's exactly what zelenskys dresses like, and his weird put on gravely voice. He feels like a guy who is the trying to shoot his own low budget action movie and he's the hero but he's just a manlet in a T-shirt.

[Lets go full crazy since people here keeping saying “it all felt staged” and then others respond “BUT Trump can’t act!”]

What if it was staged and the outcome was planned and everyone had some knowledge or outline of the general beats they had to hit except for Trump? I mean Trumps whole “art of the deal, I make good deals, I’m a businessman who wants deals to be made, I made the deal” is kind of predictable when put into the right situation.

Honestly I feel it’s all more stupid than any of this. Both leaders seem to prefer to deal in person rather than through Kissinger/Lavrov style diplomats and it blew up in a spectacle fit for TV.

I was online friends with a Bundeswehr officer-corps guy and played slavjank games with him. Germany has high technology, but was far more interested in making it for export and not use it themselves, and until a year or two back they were entirely uninterested in spending any significant money at all. He told me the rifles they used for gunning qualifications were 10-year old pieces of shit that had a huge MOA from wear and it was physically impossible to get great scores on even if you had perfect aim because they literally didn't have anything better to use. Even with their newfound militarism, you don't completely retool an army in a year. You don't even do it in five or ten if you're not personally at war, let alone shake off all the rust.
I was similarly friends with a British artilleryman and a Dutch paratrooper. The brit told me that they couldn't even find the money to get new dress uniforms for each soldier and that they were hand-me-downs and the dutchman told me they were eager to help Ukraine but they didn't have much to give.

Europe isn't like America, where we have an immense MIC constantly bribing politicians for contracts. They have scattered good parts- intel, special operations teams, good tech, etc, but they have no real powerful industrial weapons and vehicles manufacturing base and even in a best-case scenario they're far away from it. Remember that until recently only America, the UK, I think Spain and Estonia were the only countries hitting the NATO minimums. They literally presumed the burgers would fix any problems and let shit fall apart.

If you are talking about the actual fighting army of Sweden, its about 6,800 strong. The armed forces as a whole are 30k because as in most of Europe, actual men who could fight in a war are considered the lowest priority in military staffing.
That's not entirely fair. Even in the US military, most of its personnel are support staff. You have about 3 to 5 people in support roles for every 1 soldier whose role is to fight in a front line capacity. These aren't bullshit roles, either. You need cooks, mechanics, medical staff, intelligence officers, truck drivers, and even HVAC technicians.

Everyone giggles about 91Cs until they're in a desert with no air conditioning.

All 30.000 of Sweden's troops are ready to take on 69 men at once!

What do you mean, in a battle?
My cope is that the Irish troops ironically get far more experience being the UNs dogs and being literally the only competent units there that don't rape everything on 2 legs. The Irish Rangers also win a lot of marksmen plaudits when they do wargames with other militaries. : ( They only started boarding drug trafficking ships in 2023 in our waters to good success. 157 million euro of cocaine was seized after a hostile boarding action of a cargo hauler. Their "special reconnaissance vehicles" when they were deplyed in Chad, East Timor, Angola, Mali, Somalia or the Congo were just Ford pick-ups with a shitload of guns on it lmao. Lot's of Cu Chulainn and Fianna warrior-band LARPing apparently.
