AI Derangement Syndrome / Anti-AI artists / Pro-AI technocultists / AI "debate" communities - The Natural Retardation in the Artificial Intelligence communities

What do you mean by "popular but shallow" stuff?
Flavor of the Month girl fanart.
Porn meme trends.
Coomer Humor.
"Be gay do crime".
"x is trans".
Fandom comics where it's just mediocre jokes from a sitcom redrawn with different characters, even though what they say is completely out of character.
First-world problem vent art that blames capitalism.
Marvel and Starwars being treated as the height of fiction.
Groom-bait.
Anime characters race-swapped to be black.
Mascot Horror.
Object shows.
"Media Literacy" analysis.
Reddit political comics.

Those come to mind, but to be fair that's just normies in general regardless of AI.

Ttrpg discord servers are always a trip. They're filled with the most elitist group of people that ever exist. The fact they're also part of popular leftist groups adds to the shit sundae. I need more of these stupid ttrpg discord posts.

Also you should check out art discord servers. Also filled by the same people as the ttrpg ones.

Blue is so pretentious I think my jacket developed elbow patches and a secret drug addiction.

I tried out using ChatGPT for TTRPG stuff before. It's fine, it tends to produce "slop" though (did I trigger anyone here with that word?) That is to say, it's a bit mediocre but what can you expect when it's been trained on Reddit and other public websites? When I tested it with some superhero RPG it got super overzealous and started generating rolling tables and "rolled" on them itself, which was equal parts funny and annoying.

I definitely agree there's a lot of snobbery about it based on secondhand information. If half these people actually tried to use LLMs they'd realise they're not much of a threat to good work.

ChatGPT is trained to write resumés and marketing material. Newer LLMs that are trained for roleplaying and other creative tasks can be good at GMing if you do the crunch yourself.

Having seen what dogshit marketing even billion dollar companies throw out, you won't notice. Shit if anything at least it'll proofread their dogwater-tame campaigns of "uhh drink pepsi be yourself ayy" or what have you. People act like it's hot shit to make gpt write your resume for you, but that's also THE most predictable text genre on fucking earth. It hasn't changed in hundreds of years cause both parties have come to expect specific themes down to the sentence per paragraph. "Hi, me, this position thanks.", enter. "Why me", enter. "Why you?", enter. "Thanks bye". Holy shit, revolutionary!

As per many other things, AI will end up doing the most legwork in porn.

Using ChatGPT instead of a proper LLM trained on RPG and adventure text such as Kobold AI is, to me, profoundly retarded.

It's like using a buzzsaw to polish glass, have humans had not learned that when wielding a hammer, not everything is a fucking nail? But I guess that I'm being too affable by treating Discord users as humans.
:smug:

KoboldAI isn't an LLM. You're supposed to use KoboldAI with LLMs, but it's just a frontend like SillyTavern. Also, all the RPG LLMs like MythoMax and Pygmalion are pretty retarded.
You're correct, I just toyed with it once by downloading the least demanding model they officially put on Hugging Face.
The result on my 14 year old HP laptop was akin to be waterboarded by the CIA in slow motion. Using AI tools with Linux on a pre-Vulkan machine should be considered a warcrime, do not recommend.

It produces slop in the sense that it just generates the most average concepts ever which can break you out of a writing block or decision paralysis but will almost always require further refinement before you present it to your players.

My trick is that I use it to name npcs because that's usually an impossible task for me for some reason and it generates the campiest names you can think of which I like.

Every single time

People keep talking about the AI Bubble like the Dot Com Bubble but I don't think they grasp the finer details of that statement.
After all, the Dot Com bubble led us to realize that the internet had quite limited applications (It was little more than riffing on phoneline stuff we already had) and it didn't majorly affect our lifestyle ...right?

For me, the bubble is in the manufacturing of chips specifically for AI. If Deepseek is a little bit legitimate in their resources used to train up a generative model high end, top of the line GPUs aren't going to matter as much as they do now. Nvidia's bloat will deflate a little as they slide into irrelevancy again unless they can justify the cost to manufacture.

Yes this is funny, language models are getting better going through [Haram content]-@Glowie-Wholesome pipeline with help of stable diffusion and AI fixes haram out of "art" It's getting better and better every day.

Art fixed, haram removed and milk gained in the process. Everyone wins!
