I think they are just trying to create a meme. Like an anti-Trump bumper. Every now and then release a "Shit that's wrong" video and have someone explain it in short form.

It's like Null's old "Time to beat a dead horse" thingy before talking about May back when she was with the Gunt.
 
Just makes no sense for America (only country that matters for export purposes) to have a negative trade balance with any of it's trade partners purely from the perspective of it being the biggest market in more ways then one. Too many countries get billions from us every year in trade surplus due to tariffs, bad deals or other shit things every non Trump president has done for at least 30 years that makes us fund everyone.
It makes sense when the United States can maintain a reputation (fake or not) for being "the military defense" nation, those billions are deemed acceptable if the military industrial complex in America is making tons of money off securing and training the rest of the world. For all Putin's faults he has convinced the world that gaining ground in Ukraine (which is just Russia; I don't believe the slava ukraini crap, it was just Russia for centuries prior to this one) means American defense policy "doesn't work." So now Europe is scared and trying to hedge a better deal, or threaten to run to some other sugar daddy.

At this point I believe Europe should just be Bolshevikland because they killed Hitler. They deserve "Russian" totalitarianism and cinderblock architecture.

Trump is a deals guy. Offer him something.

He didn't even try? As far as I can tell he made no counter offer. Even when given an olive branch he did fuck all for the pause period.
Why doesn't Trudeau try to negotiate? At all? It's fucking frustrating to see because I don't like Canadians but it benefits us to have strong, competent neighbors and they're just acting like braindead retards instead of NEGOTIATING.
He flat out admitted Canada cannot accommodate the tariffs Trump demanded and asserted that Canada would cease being a country and would go financially bankrupt. Unless he was lying, which he isn't because he announced resignation the next day, then the Globohomo Uniparty is drawing lines. Either way, the reality is that Canada is far weaker than anyone ever anticipated. They don't have any legs to stand on and once Trump does this, they're fucked.
 
That's impossible it's written in the constitution. At most he can make issues for their parents.
Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
I think this phrase gives us some wiggle room, if we go full spirit of the constitution mode we could interpret the bold phrase as:
subject to the (sole) jurisdiction thereof
which would fulfill the amendment's function and intention of guaranteeing the slaves citizenship as they would be essentially stateless individuals in the jurisdiction and care of our country while denying citizenship to individuals who are subject to other jurisdictions like illegal aliens or tourists.

Anyone else wants to take a crack at armchair lawyering the birthright issue? I genuinely want to know what you guys can come up with.
 
I understand American goods will always be more expensive due to labor laws (aka not using slave labor) but as a budget conscious consumer I'm willing to eat that extra price if the quality makes up for it. For example I bought those made in USA new balance and they're sturdier and last longer than any Chinese crap I've ever had to buy. Sure they're a bit more but the price is worth it. Places like harbor freight really show the insane mark up for shitty Chinese made junk (I know they own their own labels and are private but the point still stands).



And for a land of immigrants, I see no issues allowing (legal) immigration to fill those factories if we have a labor shortage. of course they should accept the USA as though it were their own but that goes without saying.
This is a big deal people are overlooking. As the largest consumer base in the world we have the power to end the remaining slavery in the world without firing a shot. We have the power to fix environmental pollution world wide and push humanity towards quality goods that can actually be reused and recycled instead of cancer causing plastic crap that will pollute the earth for 1000 generations. These are not pie in the sky hippy ideals this is a real possibility within our lifetimes.

Looking at it the other way a lot of the pain and suffering in the world has been and continues to be our fault and we owe it not just the world but ourselves and our children to course correct or it will inevitably lead to resource wars.
 
Why not just say that you can't pass any new legislation until the end of the month and work out some starter deals to circle back to until then? You don't have to double down and get ass hurt.
It could be some procedure within Canada’s government or it could be a political move. Canada is uniting around an anti-American sentiment because of the tariffs. The liberals can use this as a lightning rod to continue control of parliament by promising that they will stand up to Trump in contrast to Pierre Poilievre, who would be cast as being subservient to Trump’s demands.
 
It'll happen. Canada is naturally falling apart. It's over expanded and overpopulated and their value cannot meet its demands.
Ya without immediate removal of migrants Canada, UK, Ireland, Spain, France, Germany and others are effectively dead countries walking. They don't have the ability to maintain even at the current migrant levels not to mention they will keep increasing. Kind of crazy that all these countries just want their native people to lose.

What is to be done in the meantime to offset the high prices consumers will face?
Get rid of sales tax, get rid of income tax, don’t buy a fucking foreign made car.

Here in the US we have fish, grain, meat, vegetables, fruit, dairy. We have a bunch of other resources as well other than food. Maybe don’t buy that Mercedes or don’t buy that funko pop. Any fucking price would be completely offset in the long-term. And also, other countries do the same shit to us so why are we taking it up the ass from them?

The importer temporarily takes a hit but in the long-term makes a far greater profit.
 
The tariff conversation is stupid. If I give you $100 and you give me $10 I have a deficit of $90. If we stop giving each other money, I necessarily will be in a better position because I keep that $90. You are necessarily worse because you no longer get that money. This is assuming you were even giving me $10 because guess what, the EU doesn't buy our products. There is no mathematical way for tariffs to hurt the United States.
 
Me personally I would’ve waited for things to seemingly improve for the average American before the tariffs, but Trump seems to be speedrunning his second term.
If the $500bn investment proposal from Apple to America is any indication, it looks like the effect of the tariffs are working as intended. I don't believe (or, rather HOPE) that Trump WANTS to enact tariffs itself, it's just a necessary evil to encourage companies to invest into our economy from Americans' high spending power but lack of employee opportunity.

Time will tell if the intended result would reflect positively for the US economy long term. I'm expecting turbulence with trying to improve from Bidenocomics. I know it will take longer to clean up a mess that you had nothing to do with.
