China actually makes a good case for national socialism. xi Jing Ping was inspired by Karl Schmitt.

Compare that to Trump's economic plan which is cut taxes on the rich and just hope that economy happens and it makes up for the deficits, because that worked so well the last 20 times you tried it.

This admistration is more zogged then I thought it would be, I knew it would be bad but not this bad.

Nobody in China gives a fuck about regulations. They’d have to pay regulators to regulate and they might offend their friends and business partners.

You don’t seem to understand how bad they are.

Have you heard of cancer villages? They have entire fucking villages with cancer rates up to like 60, 70, 80% because nobody will stop factories from dumping their waste.

Over 60% of ground water in China isn’t safe to drink, and it’s not because of giardia or dysentery. It’s because it’s fucking poison
Wait what are you getting on about? You're supporting my point. Are you disagreeing or adding to it? My point is that instead of shitting up America (because regulations stop that) they go shit up some other part of the world with fewer regulations.

This is why we need an outright total ban on all Chinese goods.

You just sound like you’re fixated on the idea that there’s some country somewhere that deserves to be chinese’d

Please just click on this shit. They are evil

not at all. I'm just saying what's going on right now. If it were up to me I'd force us companies to apply US regulations overseas if they wish to sell to (at least) the American market.

I would be a bit careful about the "china bad" spergs. China does a lot of bad but these people tend to quote dissidents who make up or exaggerate shit. No joke the modern Chinese state operates not as a communist one but a fascist one. For Christ's sake they're one of two nations who still have internal passports (other being the DPRK).

It's like trusting Russian, Qatari or Chinese state propaganda to tell you about America. If you only watched them you would think the second you stepped out in the street you would get gunned down.

Would I want to live in China...no not at all. But they're our competitor for a reason and it's not because of all the smoke and mirrors.

This is a serious issue in China that the CCP murders journalists for exposing (archive). Of course, neither the UN nor the Democrats care about this problem. Do not notice the rampant environmental disasters in China. Definitely don't say anything about East Palestine, OH. We must ban gas stoves!

in some US-Can border states you can get a driver's license that has all your passport details on it (think of it as a passport card that's also a driver's license). Thus allowing you to drive back and forth across the US can (and US mexico) border. I think every state and territory should have this as it would be more secure and easier for road, rail and train transit (it would also mean that having a fake would make it a federal crime). Have an option to have TSA precheck / Nexus (and whatever the mexico equivalent is) on it and I think we are golden
might as well fold that into the Real ID.

but when it's up on the shelf next to a china made lightbulb that costs 1/10th the price the uninformed consumer will go "a lightbulb is a lightbulb" and pick the cheaper one every time. And when it fails on them early they'll just go "light bulbs just do that".
Hence the solution... Tarrifs!
You could tarrif the Chinese light bulbs until they are uncompetitive with US manufactured ones.
Or you could collect tarrifs and use those funds to build highly automated and efficient US factories that are lower price and better quality than the Chinese slop.
The issue is that Congress won't do it's fucking job and pass a bill making it harder or outright illegal for China to do that.
Blocking China and Chinese nationals from owning US land is something Trump has said he might fix. I hope he does.

Trump keeps talking about reciprocal and fair deals. The MAGA political party will hopefully continue that line of logic.
We could fix some of it if we a) broke up monopolies to ensure competition b) banned foreign companies from owning a majority share of US based corporations c) had Congress pass a bill which would punish corporations for not building and hiring American first.
a) Monopolies are either "natural" or "unnatural". Natural require government caretaking (state ownership, or heavily regulated). Unnatural I would prefer not exist. Unnatural exist from criminal collusion or artificial barriers (like regulatory capture).

b) Agree. I would go further.

c) Tariffs fix corporations shipping jobs and factories overseas. Enforcing existing illegal labor laws fixes domestic.

remember they switched from beef tallow to veggie/seed oil because of consumer health concerns and price. Beef tallow isn't exactly the best for your arteries (can't speak to veggie oil but remember there was a health scare in the 90s when everyone switched). As for price, while tallow and lard has always been cheaper, we heavily subside our corn and soybean production which leaves us with so much surplus it managed to be cheaper than tallow/lard.

Trusting Soviet era propaganda, sure.

China’s first tech accomplishment was The Great Firewall, preventing its internal citizens from interacting with the rest of the world. I’ll trust leaked video from China more than a state funded “influencer”

Edit: let me demonstrate. This video is also one year old, just like serpentza’s. You could assume it came out at a similar time

See anything interesting?
