General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

The reasons I heard is more or less because she's compared to vanilla ice.

She's basically a white person who found success with a quote unquote black art form by pandering to people who largely wouldn't associate with rap music otherwise.

The average deadbeat is either Asian or White and a couple of them have " I don't really mess with rap music but the way she does it makes me like it" kind of energy.

At least RZA shouted her out though.
I think even that is taking too narrow a view of it in that I think chocking her fans up to being "people who wouldn't associate with rap music otherwise" is missing the big picture in the same way that rap twitter does when they seethe about her.

Because they would listen to rap without her, and they do, just not primarily American Rap. But you'll find plenty of people among her fans who do vibe with Jrap or Kpop that uses a lot of rapping. Which makes sense because that's where Mori's actual roots and influences lie.

Where a lot of the hang ups lie in folks just still not being able to cope 20+ years later that post-Eminem, Rap is global and people are doing things with it in other parts of the world that doesn't even touch on it's western roots. While you do of course have artists like JP the Wavy who very heavily emulates western rap, if you put on a lot of Jrap artists that you will find a lot of overlap with in Mori's audience you get stuff like Creepy Nuts, Faketype etc, who's music is wildly different from anything you'll hear in the west both in terms of beats and flows as well as the content of their lyrics. All of which black twitter just can't cope with and so they have to write it off as "Corny" (translation: Not Black Enough) just like they do when they hate on Lotus juice.

Also just a minor aside on the RZA thing, I would never even as her fan tout that shit even just to try to make someone seethe because it only takes half a second into seeing that when it happened to realize that was a paid cameo shoutout and Mori was so unfamiliar with him that she couldn't even say his name correctly.

from Nimi Nightmare:

"Helloo, I'm really sorry I haven't been streaming again, the results of Bean's surgery weren't as good as I'd hoped and the vet is still working on getting him a diagnosis and figuring out treatment. He's my baby and I've been kind of a mess but we're hanging in there 💚"

Poor Nimi, losing a pet you love isnt easy, and based on what she is saying the picture doesnt actually look that great.

Of course this is going to be underassuming as it's only reflective of members who actively appear in chat so everyone will actually have more than the listed number because folks are naturally going to have lurking members that don't chat. But the relative rankings ought to remain more or less the same as there isn't much reason for there to be a notable difference where one person has some disproportionately high number of lurkers compared to someone else.
I'd suspect older talents would have a greater percentage of non-chatting members because over time they'll accumulate people who membered at some point but now no longer tune into streams as much (or possibly even at all).

probably occurs at some level but at the same time if it were a big enough norm to shift things much I would expect it to show more consistantly across members of those older gens where some you can see have active and engaged old members while someone else in their gen has very little. of the older talents trending lower I don't think any of them are ones that I wouldn't have expected to be on the lower end

(the different colors on the bars are different membership durations of those members blue on the left being new and moving to a different tiers as it goes right)

and does anyone have a gumpai archive i wanna see how fucked she was before she kicked the bucket
Some people made an archive with over 1800 files (content/irl stuff as well as the dm/bf leaks) https://gumpai.lol/

Anyone know what's up with this? Is she getting the bag before dipping or is it something more interesting/personal? I don't watch Calli anymore these days so I am out of the loop on if she has money issues or anything like that (which would be odd since she makes so much money from music presumably)
I wouldn’t be to surprised if some these sponsored streams are required by the talents to do. Like some studio pays Cover and part of the deal is that they have to use talents over a certain sub count to maximize the reach of their paid ad.

mori had a concert recently.
MVs, 3d lives on youtube and concerts cost money, specifically the talents money.
though cover will pay the upfront costs and have the talents pay them back over time.

This is probably correct. Capcom in particular seems to be making it rain on vtubers at the moment. Given Mori's event tempo of late, she may really be in need of another health hiatus but didn't make the decision/notify management before contractual obligations started stacking up, hence concentration of sponsored streams. Grinding through the queue so she can crash and recuperate.

Getting the bag and graduating? Health Break? management forced? Why do you guys jump to such intense assumptions right out of the gate lol.

Her upcoming stream is 99.9% for sure going to be the Tribe Nine stream that her and Kanata have been doing, They both did one months ago and Kanata did one like a week and a half ago, Mori was supposed to do the same but had to cancel the stream because hotel internet in the US wasn't cooperating with her.

She just did a Seven deadly sins game stream as her last stream and now because of the previously cancelled stream she's doing the Tribe Nine stream and she normally tries to space out shill streams and feels weird doing them back to back. that's it.

She's currently still recording for currently unannounced big projects, and has holofes coming up so she's been lighter on streams but no "health break" in the near future. She also has said many times that she has projects and things in the work through Universal Music that are plotted out over the next several years. Unless something insane happens she's just never leaving Holo so there's never much reason to speculate she might.

This is true for hololive more broadly but concert stuff for Mori ends up being handled a bit differently through Universal. She has additional parties that put in funding for her stuff as a result of it and it's not all just on her.

she is taking care of Gura's 4th abandoned child and she needs the shill streams to buy more formula
