Meximutt / Satoko is a wonderful example of a new-age variant. Unlike a lot of recent self-insert coal which are technically IAS, you do not want to be portrayed as him. It carries the true spirit of classic soyjaks even if it's missing stubble and glasses. Real life soy boys evolved into brown mutts and the Shitoko jak adapted where endless variant:unknowns fail.

Yes in a way it reflects that Jaks,in their original,presharty form,are completely outdated. Soyjaks survived because they are so far removed they’ve just been “guy I don’t like or guy I ironically portray myself as” like how Italian pantomimes used to represent real people or stereotypes but just became abstract clowns as those cities and individuals became irrelevant. A modern equivalent of the Soyface/Numale would be the Millenial/early gen Z ironic dirtbag guy but that isn’t as universally iconic since it has intention behind it. Another key to Meximutt’s success is that he is the soyjak to a group of people immunized to the soyjak. Not only is he a sign of changing times but he is the ultimate form of self awareness that they have in a sense developed their equivalent of the insufferable but culturally dominant Untermensch they have once mocked.
