I think everyone is being equally retarded in this, because it's one guy who made a stupid decision by placing all his eggs into one basket vs a bunch of fags defending every action one president makes. However, there is a point to be made where you can get thread banned if you went into the other camp's "safe space". And this thread would be relentlessly boring if people DIDN'T respond to bait or arguments over not appearing as "pussies who are no better than liberals".

The most that this place is would be is an echo chamber. But not a "safe space" by any means, since this is meant to be a place of open discussion. A "safe space" would imply you couldn't interact with the thread without being heavily censored or punished. You do not get punished for making arguments, bait, or anything against the current sitting president & his administration. If you actually believe that this is somehow a safe space, then you may not understand the concept of "safe space". A bunch of autists screeching at you, and giving you le negative karma, is not the same as being censored for having dissenting opinion.

That's a bit extreme, and very short-sighted. It's been done before, by Andrew Jackson, most famously when Indian Removal got struck down by the SCOTUS. He just said fuck it and did it anyway, since it was his job to enforce the ruling and he decided to ignore it. There's also the case where FDR attempted to increase the number of justices to make it so he could continue to implement unconstitutional legislation in the New Deal by artificially giving himself a majority. This ended in failure. The checks and balances on this country exist for good reason, the fact that the president has had power creep over the years is something that's far from a good thing. It sets a bad precedent. One of the Democrats' biggest flaws is that they wield power like they will be in power forever, and never consider it won't be used against them. Don't fall into the same pitfall.

Apparently there was a Dem meeting before the speech where leadership instructed fellow Dems to NOT protest the speech, don't use props, and don't make it about themselves. Had they restrained themselves the rebuttal and plea from the moderate might've actually hit. Instead the grifters got their photo op. I almost feel bad for Dem leadership.
