I've am watching the state of the union today and democrats were told to not make it about themselves, when Trump starts talking about thousands of people dying in Ukraine due to our support they start clapping lmao wtf is this shit. Are these people brain dead so I guess the dems support killing hundreds of people nice.

There’s actually a big scandal happening in Texas over the state govt being shanghaied — a large group of politicians who ran on republican platforms turned coat after the election and immediately voted to give more power to the dems. Several bills that Texans voted for in overwhelming numbers have been in stalemate due to this shit. Rumors are that a lot of these “rising star” TX Dems are Obama funded. A few honest and upright TX reps are documenting this corruption live on X every week trying to get the word out.

Those of us in the know have been begging for larger coverage of this insanity. We have been drowning in Indian H1B transplants, illegal Mexicans, violent rapist Venezuelan gangs and Californians since 2020 and the demographics in several formerly rural counties are changing overnight.

There are entire apartment complexes, streets, neighborhoods, even full-on towns that are overrun by violent illegals being funded by shadowy corps and protected by psychopathic politicians like Al Green, Jasmine Crockett, Dustin Burrows and Dan Crenshaw. Meanwhile, native Texans are forced to pay disgusting amounts of money in property taxes on homes they’ve owned for decades to fund it all. And no one is covering it.
Blue Texas is all but a foregone conclusion. Why is nobody outside of this thread talking about this?

The problem is that this dipshit district judge told the State Department to just pay everything, every claim from everybody, do not check for completion, fraud, or anything else. Within hours. Yes, that means he ordered relief for parties that were not involved with the suit and yes that means he is ordering the State Department to violate Federal law. This is how stupid and or brazen he is.
That was after they failed to do it for two weeks as stated in the initial TRO. They would have had enough time to check routine payments for fraud in that time. The government was dragging their heels to not pay for work they promised to pay for.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna is referring all four mayors at today’s hearing for criminal prosecution.

Eric Adams, Mike Johnston, Brandon Johnson, and Michelle Wu.

"You are in direct violation of 8 U.S. Code § 1324."

"I'm criminally referring you to the DOJ for investigation. These are going to Pam Bondi immediately!"

Your meanie replies hurt my feefees and make me want to hide in a corner. I come to this thread so everyone agrees with me and rates my posts with winner stickers. 🥺
The only way to win A&H is to get a post that is equally rated with positive and negative stickers.
Wait is that how tariffs work? Fuck it at this point I am pro-tariff if just to see how they even work!
The problem is that tariffs are assessed at one point (when whatever it is crosses the border) so it can be real hard to see how it ends up. And if the tariff is on something that's also produced locally, they won't have as much headway to raise price, because customers will just go to the local product. So it may or may not raise prices something that may or may not be related to 25%. The only real way to be directly hit is to order something outside the country and get a duty imposed.
Apparently back then, cars were a bitch to maintain. There were even dedicated inspection services at some gas stations, but with engineering improving and inspectors purposefully damaging cars to drive up profit, they disappeared.
Cars were quite fragile mechanical devices when they first appeared, and progressively got better (and more complicated). It's possible to maintain an old enough car with a blacksmith's and no parts. But even by the 70s they had numerous improvements, each of which removed part of the hassle. They were so bad that the reason chauffeurs existed wasn't to drive rich people around, it was to keep the damn car running. The 70s saw points finally disappear so you didn't have to maintain that, at least. Modern cars really are a marvel - they run for so long with no maintenance at all because the manufacturers have learned that they really need to make them maintenance-free because maintenance - ain't a chance! for the vast majority of the public.
A 1968 chevy truck was around $1900 MSRP.. Thats 21,000 today.
You can get a basement-level car for $21k but it has a ton of bells and whistles that would have been unavailable or high-end luxury in the past. Modern cars really ARE better, but they're a fuck to keep running once they start wearing out (which they do much later than old ones did). They've also gotten better since the bad old days when they were still figuring shit out.

Man. If Johnson, Wu and and Johnston go to prison and get sexually assaulted by Mexicans gangsters in a cell, I’ll be the happiest American ever.

Democrats: How dare you exploit a child with cancer for your own personal gain. Have you no decency?

I almost miss Android Raptor popping in to go "It's absolutely MAGAt crotch goblins' fault also did you know Catholic priests are pedophiles and trans women never molest anyone?"

Come on usa invade canada already.
I wish they would try something so we could stomp them.
Eric Adams, Mike Johnston, Brandon Johnson, and Michelle Wu.
Wu is already potentially in some shit because the DoJ is looking into Tania Fernandes Anderson and the rest of the Boston City Council for stealing taxpayer money.

It’s gone super red but now I know its going to vote Republican for the next century.
I want a Diamond Dome.
We need to step up our drone defenses on the border.
I'll definitely believe the governor of Illinois, a state that's had 4 of its last 10 governors charged with corruption and served time.

In 2022 the University of Illinois Chicago ranked the state as the 2nd most corrupt in America
Nothing good comes out of Chicago unless it’s someone fleeing it.
I think the real takeaway of the night was Trump floating zero interest on American cars.

That might be too much, too good to be true? Like, you want to get cars to a “meh” place where the cost/benefit isn’t skewed too bad between males and models, and then win the customers with quality. It’s outright hostile to just poison the market against Japanese and German cars. I love BMW but actually Germany is really fucking gay right now, so maybe just don’t poison the market against Japanese cars. Japan is like our best friend on the planet

I’d rather one of two things.

1: a stripped down options that an average person has a chance in hell of being able to afford in cash and totally sidestep financing

2; repeal planned obsolescence, bring back cars that live for 20-30 years

But either way, just saying those magic words.. Trump wants us to actually make cars again. He should get a third term just for that
A lot of “foreign” cars are actually made here and even more will be made here because of the tariffs.
that's some sovcit level kook shit
I think we have them on the ropes.
Do you honestly think that the funding will stop? Trump's mandate has been completely shattered today. The Supreme Court will keep the USAID gravy train rolling forever.
I hope he tells them to stick it where the sun don’t shine.
Come on usa invade canada already.
We need to liberate Alberta.

Starting price of the Silverado:

Not a huge price difference, especially if you don't trust the official inflation numbers. People just have higher standards these days.

The price of a $75k pickup should be compared to a 1968 Cadillac, not a truck, and even then you get way more for your money with a modern vehicle.

This is not an apt comparison. The features on a 1968 cadillac were far above what new vehicles had available at the time. A modern $75k pickup has no features that are above and beyond what most new vehicles have available.

The case involves a small amount of USAID payments that contractors say their owed for work already performed.

Honestly this is the correct ruling for the Supreme Court to make and it doesn't really hurt Trump's agenda in any significant way.
I was surprised how much dooming there's been and accused "betrayals" by the Supreme Court over this. Hopefully whatever retarded work they did is scrutinized that it was actually done, but it's not like the SC reopened USAID or anything. They just had some unpaid dues hit their court and decided those people need to be paid. USAID is still dead, folks.
