By moving the necessity of energy from the rocket's onboard fuel reserves to the space elevator, the same amount of fuel can do double or more the useful work while in space. By building such a structure at a suitable location, such as my choice, Florida, we can civilize those backwards but noble Floridamen while opening an avenue to greater exploitation of our untapped solar system.
