This is why I hit disagree. This is possibly the most retarded proposal I have seen in a while. I agree about the sonic fan freakouts being able to be brought up in either, but that's not worth merging the actual fucking video game discussion thread into the diluded miasma of gooners and spergouts. I don't want to click on a thread talking about vidya shit and be blasted by the earlier mentioned and visually seeable users from after 2020 blasting god awful pooner/troon torture amputee porn on the regular, and the thread would devolve into an incoherent mess where no actual game discussion could even take place.

SATAM elitists obsessed with the franchise being as "dark, gritty and mature" as possible being a good example. Deviantart fetish autists being another.

It's funny because the reason SATAM was popular with kids back in the day was because it was the exception to usual goofy sonic stuff. Even then it still had goofy stuff because yeah it's fucking SONIC it's not gonna be entirely grimdark.

The DiC cartoon background music in general though was some really good shit. Unfortunate there's only like SOME uploads of it easily available online.

Nigga they have the old DiC cartoons in the kids section on streaming services and they sell DVDs of them. I'm pretty sure there's some people that show their kids those cartoons to his day. I didn't take into consideration streaming or the DVDs, sure, but I was saying that Bunnie's character is from a 30+ years old show. Kids/teenagers today will likely prefer to watch something better than SATAM Sonic, or prefer a more modern character.

It's very interesting how many people didn't get the up and down mechanic from experimentation when playing the game as a kid to the point it became a meme amongst gamers in general. Even when you do it right shit's still kind of weird.

I mean, I was stuck on this fucking thing when I was like 10 and 11.

I just happened to be have been playing this for the first time in 2007 when the internet was already a thing and I could just look up what to do.

Now, my thought process is that back in the day, when this was a new game, surely without internet and, possibly, without a guidebook around, surely you'd get desperate enough to try everything.

I believe stumbling upon pressing up and down to get it to move must of happened, can any fags older than me confirm or deny?

Edit: Also, I also had the ability to just up the level select and debug code to bypass this prior to my preteen brain just thinking to look up what to do here. I'd imagine not having that knowledge or being stuck with Sonic 3 and it's infamous level select code would lead to the desperation I described.

I never had any trouble with the barrel. I don't think it's very well-designed though, since very rarely do gimmicks force you to play with anything resembling an alternate control scheme. Just a little background design would have done wonders here, replace those neon squares with up and down arrows and I think people generally would have figured out what was going on.

I wouldn't call Project 06 a proper remake/port of 06, personally. It's only a compilation of the action stages with no other aspect of the game ported over. I'm hoping that one day either someone adapts the rest of the game into P06 as a mod, or the original game gets recompiled for PC like Unleashed.

Does it feel to anyone else like making fun of Shadow for being edgy and screaming "MARIA" all the time is relevant again now Sega has dredged it all back up? Maybe it never stopped being relevant but to me it seemed like he had accepted what happened on the ARK and come to terms with it. As a result all the Ow the Edge jokes felt old hat.

After Generations though it all seems funny again. I was just watching a years-old video making fun of Shadow's edgyness and it feels fresh again.

So it only includes the halfway decent part of the game (the levels) and removes the part no one cares about (the hub world) I don't see the issue why do you want it? Shit I'm playing Unleashed Recomp and I wish I can just play the levels and skip the hub worlds and tails stages.
