I wonder how true that is nowadays. I know in the days of Twitch there were a lot more European viewers, BSV probably being the most infamous, but it feels like a lot of them were the sporadic (at least in comparison to the dedicated paypigs) $5 or $10 donators that Phil doesn't really have around anymore. Feels like a lot of the "known" people in the goutverse are American.

How does being a troll tip make the point any less valid? All Phil had to do was say "thanks for the tip" and move on, but instead he had to be a fucking faggot and go on an unhinged rant about how 3rd world currencies and their countries are worthless. The point I am making is that AugustTheDuck and anyone else who then goes on a 10 minute tyrade acting like the donation is from a real Nigerian, rather than making it a thought exercise for 30 seconds, is just as gay and retarded as DSP. There really is more than than enough stuff to criticise Phil for than how he treats his very obviously fictitious third world donators. Stuff like this retarded August video gives him credence when he brands all the criticism against him as obsessive people out to get him.

but from what I understand, the issue is that the person who made the video is acting like Phil is scamming Nigerians and then insulting them for only donating a small amount.

I'm not sure the video presenter was legit making that the point of objection, however, they were arguing as if the tip was from an actual Nigerian and pointing out it would be a significant portion of the average Nigerian income for a month, so if Phil was taking real Nigerian superchats, he was a douche to the Nigerian. If it wasn't a Nigerian, he was begging and being unappreciative when he got change thrown at his feet on his internet street corner that his fat wife can't get in the room of.

That may well be true, like I said, I have no prior encounter with the channel I can recall so I may miss any contextual tells more repeat viewers of its offerings will pick up, and why I asked what they're noted for outside of lolcow recap vids. Just accepting the surface presentation is not a 100% give away of actually believing the shadow play on stage though, it's just giving benefit of the doubt to make a point, in some cases, maybe not this one, however as you say.
