There is a video of him saying his dog has it. He was under the assumption that since the dog had it - the kid might have it as well. This was not the case.

1. 1 kid definitely had giardia (11 month old)
2. second kid had diarrhea, but they thought it was giardia
3. they had the second kid tested, but it wasn't giardia.
So he was mistaken when he announced 2 kids had giardia.

1) That's legit Tourettes and that's what it looks like in an adult who isn't doing it on purpose. Sniffing, eyebrow bullshit, blinking, all those "little adjustment" things are the most common tics by far. Vocal tics are more uncommon and they're usually still not very purposeful. Clicking, coughing, going "ugh", and making weird gutteral noises, and even animal-like noises are way more common than actually saying words.

Tourettes is kinda a spectrum between totally neurologically based actions (like those that are induced in people on certain drugs) and totally psychological, impulse actions that look more like ocd, adhd, or unfortunately bpd attention-seeking. The more complex the behavior is, the more psychological it usually is, just my personal observation. If they go "ugg" and blink it's probably more neurological, if they're addicted to tiktok and are yelling "Beans!" and fifteen other trendy statements, it's probably more mental illness.

A lot of people outgrow tics, but Ethan is pretty much a solid example of what it looks like in an adult man who isn't doin' it for the Vine, and it's always kinda impressed me that he still found his way into podcasting/ being on camera.

Public Health Medfag here so this is my wheelhouse.

Giardia is a condition that healthcare providers are mandated to report to the health department. It's spread specifically by contact with contaminated feces or food/water contaminated by it. Essentially you need to swallow a few tiny parasites to get sick.

In a normal, healthy adult it's not dangerous but in small children this level of chronic diarrhea could be deadly. Same goes for someone who might be a serious drug user.

If I got a report of a whole household with giardia, I'd call CPS. It is not uncommon to see it in children who live in dog shit riddled houses.

For Ethan's baby to have been tested for Giardia, it means the Klien's would have had to have taken the baby to a pediatrician or urgent care and told a doctor "So the whole house caught a dog-poop transmitted parasite infection, can you test the baby for it to make sure they didn't catch it too?" ...that's gonna raise some red flags.

You would notify the government health body because it's spread through water so if there is a cluster of infections, you may need to make a public health notification (i.e Don't go swimming in this creek etc or recall a contaminated food item)
