I guess? It just didn't have anything to really set itself apart other than "this isn't cucked like the big companies" which is nice and all, but you still need something that's in the comic to serve as a hook.

That is alot of indybooks, like one i got was just furry daredevil in da hood, and the art was a little worse than rippas stuff, the color palette was real dark.

I think the fact it isn't pozzed like Marvel/DC is the hook, or at least supposed to be. The problem with making that your USP is it means all you're really delivering is the same generic capeshit that completely over-saturated the market in the 80s and 90s.

Which is fine if that's all you want, and by all accounts Eric seems to have done well out of it, but I don't think the Rippaverse is going to become some cultural touchstone in the way stuff like Kick Ass, Hellboy or Sin City was.
