Warframe

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
hey guys, a reminder that the belly of the beast event ends in a week. ordis has jade's blueprints for her warframe and components and weapons, the elightened hate scythe skin, some sigils and emblems, the ceti lacera, the krios signa, and all 3 aspirus ephemeras at the relay at mercury. plus he's selling all the arcanes that you'd get from the eidolons. i finished maxing out arcane energize and arcane grace. and i'm almost done with arcane barrier, becasuse honestly. this is a better way of gettting them instead of grinding for months from the eidolons. especially the hydrolysts.

i've been getting alot of the volatile motes from doing the alerts in steel path because you get 5 extra in them. plus farming more arcanes from the acolytes.

also, the star day event is going on in fortuna. it's basically the valentine's day event.

Some of you guys don't know this, but the mecha set is very good at keeping you alive, mostly through killing swaths of enemies on a whim. The armor on marked kill plus adaptation has been doing me wonders with Koumei, who I had dying every which way every two minutes or so. Now I can go a 20 min survival with no issues.

Is there a frame that the set works best with?

In practice, any Warframe, according to this video:
As long as your running any weapon that can spit out stupid amounts of Slash/Elec/Heat/Toxin/Gas procs, and you can find the marked enemy amidst the chaos. There's a "lazy Kullervo" build that uses the Huras Kubrow so they can comfortably kill crowds of enemies with Slash procs while remaining invisible.

Supposedly the Mecha dots count as companion damage, so it can spread Contagious Bond too. I keep learning even more broken shit about this set everytime I look into it.

The only real downside to the mecha set is pulse and how hard it is to notice the marked enemy symbol. A lot of time the mecha set isn't really worth the mod slots, especially when you have a better aura, but I do have the pet mods on pretty much everything that can use them. Definitely helps the vizer predasite out a lot.

Its kinda the same issue with the strain set where it's really good on everyone unless you need mod space.

As always, here's the Devstream 185 summary, confirming the release of the Techrot Encore update on March 19:
We're getting four new Protoframes with the update, complete with relationship values in the KIM Chat, including the one for Temple that Rebecca accidentally leaked during a devshort:
The new Protoframes consist of:
  • Kaya Velasco (Nova), where you really see her arms turning into Nova's
  • Flare Varleon (Temple), and the talking guitar Lizzie (Infested, natch, and it looks like DE might be dodging the nonbinary issue yet again by making Flare/Temple and Lizzie a two-person entity)
  • Minerva and Velimir (Saryn and Frost respectively), adoptive parents of Maj. Rusalka who have questions as to what happened to their daughter
First off, they'll shack up in a new part of the mall (the stairwell behind the stage) after reaching Rank 4, though some chat/store interactions are locked at Rank 5. Crucially, none of them can be romanced (thankfully cockblocking horny Saryn mains in-game).
  • Kaya hosts the return of Deep Archimedea; Temporal Archimedea. The same rules as before (three missions back-to-back with no way of changing your loadout inbetween) along with (new) mission/equipment restrictions and modifiers, but Kaya also sells stickers to even the odds. One sticker can be equipped on each mission, and the only way (or rather the only way shown on-stream) of earning the currency to buy these stickers is by playing Temporal Archimedea to begin with. Accessing the week's Temporal Archimedea will spend two additional Netracell search pulses. Aside from the stickers, the currency can also be spent to get new arcanes, with the following effects:
    • Arcane Escapist adds an Escapist stack every time you mercy an enemy, with a cap of 10 stacks. If you take fatal damage and have at least 5 stacks, those stacks are spent while you enjoy a free revive and brief invulnerability.
    • Arcane Hot Shot grants a temporary crit chance boost for every heat proc you apply with abilities, capping at 50 stacks at all ranks. It's pretty much a Arcane version of that topaz archon shard bonus.
    • Arcane Universal Fallout gives enemies a chance of dropping a universal orb on death, scaling with the number of radiation procs they had while alive. Aside from weapons, this is pretty much designed for support Qorvexes and the remaining Oberons of the current meta.
  • Minerva and Velimir can be found nearby at the Round Table Pub. Minvera sells BPs of Scaldra weapons, while Velimir sells furniture (and not Eleanor i.e. the one member of The Hex who's actually stationed in a furniture store).
  • David Bowie Flare sits at the Round Table's stage and serves as the pity system for a new game mode to be added with Techrot Encore: a new Defense/Disruption variant where you protect the rockstar as he performs a concert at the end of the world, while a pissed-off Viktor sends Scaldra troops to shut him up. At the end of the current rotation (as promised, regular Defense missions are getting the number of waves per rotation reduced from 5 to 3), Viktor basically sends a Demo unit to blow up Flare and you basically have to intercept the bomber. Completing rotations can earn you parts for both Temple and his signature secondary: the Riot-848 (a silenced SMG enhanced with Entrati tech so that reloading returns the bullets to the gun, damaging whoever was shot at a second time). The mission will also award Rotheart Strings which probably serve as both a crafting resource and the aformentioned pity system's currency.
Our 60th Warframe is Temple, a rocker-themed frame with an exalted guitar weapon. His main gimmick is that he has a metronome underneath his reticle with a gauge at the middle. Casting an ability while the needle is on that gauge will grant said ability a bonus (Pablo mentions a hefty +50% efficiency buff along with a bonus unique to a given ability) while filling the gauge for later. The rest of his kit is as follows:
  • Statistically, he's a squishy caster frame with a high energy pool, as expected by his gimmick encouraging rythymic ability casts.
  • His first ability, Pyrotechnics, summons fire pillars that set enemies in front of him on fire. The metronome bonus increases the damage dealt and adds more fire pillars.
  • His second ability is Overdrive, where he places speakers that debuff enemies, increasing the likelihood of them receiving crits. The metronome bonus makes them more vulnerable to crits.
  • His third ability is Ripper's Wail, where Temple performs a guitar solo that heals him and grants nearby allies bonus Heat damage when he's done. It also renders Temple invulnerable while he's casting it, making it double as an "oh shit" button. The metronome bonus increases the duration of the Heat buff.
  • His fourth ability is of course, Lizzie, his Exalted Guitar to shred both strings and enemies alike. It's a flamethrower (and yes, they mention the Doof Warrior) that uses up that metronome gauge when it's active, and also changes his abilities to launch elemental projectiles (Viral, Magnetic, Cold, and Corrosive, with a chance to proc) until the gauge runs out. Launching said projectiles on the gauge will increase their size and status chance, while probably keeping Lizzie active for longer.
  • His skillset would imply that he's a Heat progenitor for Liches, but given that we just got Jade for that (while Koumei and Cyte-09 are Cold and Magnetic respectively), my bet would be Electric as right now Heat, Magnetic, and Radiation have 9 progenitor frames each, while the rest have 8.
I hope you guys didn't spend plat on Magistar Rivens, because Psuedo-Exalted weapons will finally be directly moddable. The following weapons/abilities are considered Pseudo-Exalted for this section:
  • Bladestorm
  • Landslide
  • Shattered Lash
  • Whipclaw
Pseudo-Exalted weapons will have their own combo counter system based on Landslide; now casting the ability again within a 1-second window will increase the combo multiplier by 1x, all the way up to the standard 12x that most melee weapons have. There have been some stat adjustments to accomodate these system changes (Bladestorm's been skipped for Ash's section):
  • Landslide's crit chance is getting buffed from 5% to 35%, while its status chance is buffed from 5% to 15%.
  • Shattered Lash's crit chance and status chance are respectively getting buffed to 20% and 30% (both up from a measly 0%), but the damage has been reduced from 800 to 400.
  • Whipclaw's damage is getting reduced from 300 to 150, but since Khora has access to the Accumulating Whipclaw augment this is less of an issue.
Alongside standard exalted weapons (and Garuda's Talons, which were counted as exalted weapons for the sake of the update), they now have Arcane and Exilus slots if they haven't got them already (though pseudo-exalts don't get exilus slots, since they can't be used for heavy attacks or blocking), and can now install previously-forbidden mods such the acolyte mods and combo counter mods. That said, if an exalted weapon cannot achieve a given mod's activation requirements, it remains forbidden to it (the example they gave was Mesa's Regulators not accepting Hydraulic/Galvanized Crosshairs, since the guns always aim for the torso). We also get the following changes:
  • Exalted melee stances now grant 10 extra mod capacity, in line with regular melee weapons and their stances. This should make modding and polarization a tad easier.
  • Exalted weapons can now accept Set mods, but they must be on the exalted weapon in question and not a statstick, otherwise they'll only get a partial set bonus.
  • Because of the pseudo-exalted weapon changes, melee weapons with infinite combo duration (Xoris, Tenet Livia, Tenet Grigori, certain Incarnon melees with the right perk) will no longer reset their combo meter after casting the relevant ability.
  • Exalted Blade and Serene Storm's projectiles can now generate combo and trigger Tennokai, rather than just direct hits. However, Serene Storm's crit chance is getting a nerf from 50% to 35% because Blood Rush made it too OP.
  • Speaking of Excalibur, Slash Dash now scales off mods on his Exalted Blade, rather than his equipped melee. Conversely, Titania's Razorflies are losing their damage scaling from Diwata's mods, mainly because it was never an intended feature (and since the mods that did affect them were inconsistent, I'm inclined to agree with this change). It's not like Titania mains use the Razorflies for damage...
Warframe's OG cyber ninja is receiving a much-needed tuneup, along with his Bladestorm daggers finally being moddable (yes, they're classified as single daggers so you can install Covert Lethality):
  • Shuriken now launches 5 projectiles instead of 2, and its damage has been increased from 500 to 750. Shuriken hits will also contribute to your melee combo counter.
  • Both the durations of Smoke Screen and the Smoke Shadow augment are being increased from 8 seconds to 12 seconds.
  • Fatal Teleport's effects are being rolled into Teleport itself, and in exchange the old augment has been replaced with Quickened Teleport. Now executing a target via Teleport will temporarily grant Ash increased Parkour speed while extending Smoke Screen's duration. If the target was Mercied instead, the buff duration is doubled while Smoke Screen's duration is outright reset.
  • Bladestorm finally gets its updates. Ash's daggers can now be modded and have a crit chance of 5%, a crit damage multiplier of 1x, and a status chance of 5%. While this sounds anemic, keep in mind that Bladestorm deals finishers with guaranteed slash procs, on top of his passive increasing bleed damage and duration. On top of this, Ash can now mark enemies in a circle around the reticle, while Bladestorm can only mark a target once instead of three times, to better spend energy on multiple targets.
This section is for changes and additions that don't warrant dedicated sections of their own (and I'm starting to get bored writing all of them down):
  • The Valence damage shifter (called an "Elemental Vice") will be available from Eleanor at a costly 100k standing. At least you have a reason to spend all those pizzas you find on the street...
  • Bundles from the market are now prorated, which is to say they now get discounts if you have part of the bundle in question owned already.
  • We're getting new augments for Gyre, Koumei, Qorvex, and Wisp (and still nothing for poor Caliban). Koumei's augment is particularly potent because it lets you reduce Omikuji's cooldown by killing an enemy with the weapon currently affected by her passive.
  • Showcasing upcoming TennoGen items, Gyre's deluxe skin, and the Coda Ephemera.
  • Ancient Protectors are receiving much-needed balance changes (hopefully nerfs).
  • As mentioned above, Defense waves are being reduced from 5 to 3, speeding said missions up considerably.
  • Rhino's crafting timer is being reduced to 24hrs.
  • The star chart path leading to The Second Dream is getting shortened, while The New War will lend you a loaner Necramech if if you haven't built one prior to starting the quest.
  • Both "The Duviri Paradox" and "The Hex" quests are now replayable.
  • Gemini Skins now have their own volume slider.
  • And THE most important part of the upcoming update, we can finally replay We All Lift Together in a post-New War Fortuna.

See you Tenno in mid-March, and don't forget that the Belly of The Beast event ends soon.

The New War will lend you a loaner Necramech if if you haven't built one prior to starting the quest.
It's already fucking torture running RJ with faggots who didn't actually do the content, so their Railjack has 1000 HP and hits for 50 damage against level 90 enemies. Now Veil Proxima Orphus will be even more impossible as people have no incentive to actually build Necromechs. Great.

In hindsight, now I realize how this could backfire.

Supposedly the Mecha dots count as companion damage, so it can spread Contagious Bond too. I keep learning even more broken shit about this set everytime I look into it.
Medjay Predasite with Mecha Set, Infectious Bite, and Volatile Parasite gives you a triple nuke setup.
I use roughly the same build as this video on my Medjay, just with Health/Armor mods instead of Duplex/Restorative. On Lavos with Link Health/Armor, they only die if they get hit with a Jade beam since they have have over 3k health and 90% DR with my TriUmbral Lavos.

Given my experience in fissure missions, the average player doesn't even know how to fucking bulletjump. Hell, they can't even be fucked to carry a powercell to the next extractor.

Also be nice if you didn't get cucked out of the armor bonus if one of your teammates took the kill. You could easily get as much armor as a TriUmbral setup from just three mobs.

At this point, I have nothing else to spend standing on unless I really want Vosfor.

So, I'm not the only one who's noticed DE seems to be dancing around the non-binary point.
Crucially, none of them can be romanced (thankfully cockblocking horny Saryn mains in-game).
Fine by me. Means that we don't have to worry about feature bloat.
Bundles from the market are now prorated
Literally the thing I'm looking forward to the most.

Should be interesting to see how he works with shieldgating since that seems like the best option.
As mentioned above, Defense waves are being reduced from 5 to 3, speeding said missions up considerably.
Hope other missions get similar treatment.
The following weapons/abilities are considered Pseudo-Exalted for this section:
DE really needs to add the same "hold to cast again" since spamming Whipclaw is a fucking pain.

Just a reminder that Warframe's 12th anniversary starts today. You get a free Ephemera by logging in, while previous anniversary rewards will be offered in Alerts.

Tactical Potato did a chat with DE's Reb and Megan.
Some of the more important points:
Pseudo-exaulted chances have been on the list since 2020 and the reason for now is, basically, it's their turn.
Megan admits to using WF creator builds all the time.
Temporal Archimedea is going to have all the shard colors as well as omni-forma, no idea if it's built.
You're going to be able to do one Deep Arch, one Temporal, and one Netracell at current pulse limit.
Three new Warframes lined up for this year and one already in the work for next year.
They know the modding system is overwhelming and they are looking to tackle it.
Augment slot isn't happening.
Railjack updates aren't in the cards.
Raids? Hahahahahahaha.

Honestly I think the only two changes they really need to make are an "apply conditionals" like overframe and showing what stats effect parts of warframe abilities. Like how the number of null star particles is based off duration, not strength. Other than that they just need better mods dropping earlier to incentivize new players to interact with the modding system meaningfully. Like nightwave mods, but for under mr4 weapons.

I think slowly introducing elements of the modding system during the tutorial quests and 'forcing' the players hand would go a long way. Ordis would be all "Operator, your powers seem to be lacking. May I suggest improving your resources?" and you'd be required to fuse some endo into a mod. Then Darvo would be like "oh, Tenno! I see you have some mods I want! Lemme give you credits for them!" and Ordis would tell you not to sell things you might need and that other Tenno might be able to use them. I think contextualisation elements as they slowly appear in the menu would be the best options.

Forget the game, they need to work on their Twitch stream issues first. Seriously, all they need to do is just loop the stream for a day, or even 12 hours.

Agreed. I've never had a problem with the mod system, but Overframe's "Apply Conditionals" slider is so helpful, and since DE has access to the backend, I assume their calculations would be even more accurate.
