I was researching Ukraine when the war started and found they were one of the child trafficking capitals of the world. While some of this is used as feed for meat production in the US, most of it is sent overseas or used in industry as feedstock. Ethanol production, etc. These farmers are simply do not have the equipment to switch from beans to onions, for example. You cant run potatoes through your John Deere S550.

Not to mention the average small-to-medium American farmer is already on welfare in the form farm subsidies and government "incentives" to add ethanol to gasoline. This is only to prop up the corn market; ethanol is less fuel efficient than gasoline and absorbs water from the air, leading to more bad gas faster. When these small/medium farms go bankrupt, large agriculture holding companies will buy the land and rent it back to the farmers. It's going to turn in to modern day feudalism.
