Looks like the new memo just dropped. Put all the focus on the Autopen and downplay the potential forgeries Biden's staffers committed.
Remember, they redefine words at their leisure.
An Autopen -- or rather, a polygraph -- is a telepresence device that takes a pen and moves another pen at the same time, so you sign two documents at the same time. But the person running the device is still signing the documents, it's just a device that moves the pen alongside you. You could do something similar with a ruler and duct tape and two ink pens.
At some point in the past, someone got the great idea instead to record signatures so they could be reproduced via a device. They call this an Autopen, too. Only not really, they were called Robot Pens when they first hit the market. This caught on in the Navy and then Congress, because if there's one thing our elected officials love, it's finding ways to not actually do the job they were hired to do.
At some point this reached the President's office. Obama used these digital autopens, that are basically CNC plotters that record a signature and recreate it. An analogue version of copy and paste. Biden continued the use of this "Autopen."
It's important to note that Presidents HAVE been using this since Truman's era. But they did it to sign checks, letters, photographs. Unofficial, or at least less important, shit. Obama was the first asshole to ever try using it for an official document, when he extended the Patriot Act while in France, and later in Hawaii when he extended some Bush tax cuts. Both times while he was on vacation and couldn't be fucking bothered to fly or fax the documents so he could sign in person.
And yes, the GOP complained back then about this. (Archive is 12 years old, holy shit.)
Even when King Nigger did this they were pointing out EXACTLY what they are accused of doing during Biden's term. "If a machine can sign for the president, could his daughter?"
How about his DOCTOR wife, if she was abusing an elderly man with dementia who doesn't even know what planet he's on? Or a staffer who totes knows what he would REALLY want to sign, trust me bro.
Using a telepresence machine so you sign two or more documents at once is probably fine. It's probably not appropriate for official documents, but whatever.
Using copy paste, even if you add extra layers to it by adding a CNC plotter to the mix, is obviously not the same thing.
Trump has correctly found a soft spot in the political machine that the GOP called out in June 2011, then promptly dropped and has been just politely ignored for a decade and a half. And I would wager money he has evidence of the abuse. There's a reason the left froze up and completely refused to respond to this AT ALL. This is a huge fucking mess and none of them know where and how this is going to ultimately shake out.
