I feel both are valid arguments and things that need to be resolved.
1. The use of copy/paste is NOT acceptable on official documents. This includes if you use a plotter to "paste' the signature. The original autopen was a telepresence (1 person moved two pens at the same time) system. Later autopens recorded the signature for later playback, but notably none of these were used for official documents AND they had safety mechanisms (part of the recording was detachable and the person who recorded the signature took it with them).
This was explicitly called out as a huge fucking problem 12 years ago when Obama first did it, but King Nigger could do no wrong and the GOPe was too busy getting commission checks for helping to dismantle America, so they just let it go.
2. If the Autopen was not DIRECTLY ENGAGED by Biden, either by activating the device himself or directly telling a staffer to hit the button for him, it's NOT acceptable, because ultimately the President has the powers appointed to him by the Constitution. Not the pen. Not his staffer. Not his administration. Biden himself.
If Biden was unable to direct presidential will -- if he was incapacitated or too far gone to do it -- then we have solutions (25th amendment) for that, but those solutions would have come with a political price. A political party not wanting to pay a political price for their actions is not a valid reason to "bend" the "rules" (break the law).
