Lord Frogmire Appreciation Thread - The Better Brother (Formerly Known as Synthetic Man Appreciation Thread) - Might have an account here

I forgot Husky blocked me because I got a janny to throw him off a stream like a year ago, someone call him gay for me.

I felt like he was too slow in term of making progress through the story? Like I know that he said after Henry and Hans fell off at the beginning he spent like 3 hours bumbling around making no progress instead of sticking up and just do the shitty quest to get better gear. I know that video game is all about fun but if he knew that he is on a tight schedule for the review, I think nobody would have blamed him to rush the story missing a couple of things and there.

Though I get that playing and streaming makes it hard to focus. Which probably is even harder on synth case since chat like to rage bait him and he fell for it / too idealist to refuse to check a guide and would rather believe chat that at times just lie to him. At the very least he was rushing story by the end.

The big problem here is that unless you're into humiliation as a fetish, there just isn't much for you here. There is no incentive to progress with the main plot and so Synth was largely just fucking about at the start and doing what was most fun for him, ie trying to kill entire towns and kill cumans at a low level. He even admitted that trying to cure his bleeding at the start by desperately making a potion was some of the most fun he had.
When the game progresses, it gets more and more linear until you reach the second sandbox, and by that point you're so tired of the game you just want to get it over with and will speedrun the main quest anyways instead of dicking around. There are no fun side quests, no fun activities and even playing the game is a chore, all those realizations sink in by that point.

the first thing i did was getting the dog back. travelling the entire fucking map on foot was legit boring in a what im doing with my life boring. i managed to reach the second open world section ( after torturing that rebel dude) and just gave up on the game. besides all the jewetry its just not a good game or rpg

I still think he should still finish the game before reviewing it because I think a game usually falls short after the halfway mark. I just think that he should rush the story a bit more knowing that the game is long and that releasing this as early as possible is beneficial.

Obviously, there is going to be complaint about “oh but this sidequest is good” but I think that I never played a game where I would recommend it because the sidequest is pretty interesting. He could try to make a second video capitalizing on the sidequest as an addendum, after his discussion about the main plot.

Is there even a single good sidequest in this game?
I guess the one with the crazed knight in the mine shaft, but it takes so long to get to that point in the game that it definitely isn't worth it.
Yeah, I agree with that. I think he just want to shut down cheap arguments like “but you didn’t finish the game, you shouldn’t review it”. Which I think is fair, but he should make some compromise to his ideal otherwise he couldn’t finish the review in time. Heck I would think it’s better if he didn’t have to stream the whole game if he kept getting distracted with chat. I know that he turned superchat at some points but it only reduced some of the distractions. Maybe he could stream the first few hours and just kept the rest for his own playtime, which he later showcase in review.

It’s a tough decision, but I think if he stream less and just play the game on his own he might have released the review sooner. But I guess the money is just to good to pass up.

Synth actually missed the best part of that quest.

He killed the insane knight but if you knock him out and talk to to him you can actually help him get revenge and mass slaughter the villagers who trapped him in the cave.

Synth would have actually liked that but to be fair you wouldn't really know that was an option unless you had a guide.

He's an absolute idiot if he doesn't. It's the next big thing in the gaming culture wars and he already missed out on incredibly easy money by not covering Veilguard or Avowed.
Hopefully the KC2D review being completed will give him the dopamine needed to be motivated again.

Everyone is "WFH" today so I am playing his KC2D review on loop on all the desktops here, with adblock disabled.

Watched the recent vid at work last night so I have been given my opinion on kingdom come2. Did any games reviewer survive the filter? I know it's been a while since it was relevant but I don't recall anyone with a following calling it out.
