I take solace in the fact that maybe, just maybe, this is all shit because he is intentionally insulting his new viewers between the lines by pandering to specific autistic logistics like "NOOOOO TWILIGHT DOESNT HAVE WINGS" or "I HATE SPIKE NO SPIKE" in order to make them hand him money so he can make them watch a gay soap opera with more visible fart/scat imagery than with SU. It'd be hilarious as fuck if he did that too, just insult them by saying "thanks for the cash bitches" and calling Princesstroonever a retard upfront to watch them finally snap and go back to cannibalizing each other.

At the very least, I'm amused by the fact that I am once again left guessing whether or not Tamers is doing this all tongue in cheek or if he has genuinely gone full gay and retarded.

also im probably cancelling the interview, i havent heard a peep about it in months. it's probably going to be done in a pony town screen recording if anything. i shoulda done it in october when i originally reached out to him but it keeps getting pushed back and back and i did my part and got 30-40 of the best questions out of 400+ and i been ghosted atleast on that front, i asked him if we could just do a discord call or partially animated like he originally said yes to but im not sure how long this will go on but he has the questions and from now the rest is on him, so gg purp. you 'won'

As I mentioned earlier, I got on for ponies and even I didn't enjoy this that much. Visually it was very cool but the thing that made all the "le ship lore" plots interesting in the earlier episodes is that a lot of the jokes were still funny and it was like a good ratio of plot to jokes.

I hated the attempted Soarburn replacement with Apple Bottom and the British fuck so I was glad it was immediately set aside for the stuff with Coco and the other one. The fact I can't even remember her name supports my next point though - which is that their entire storyline was pushed aside for more Twilight and Trixie who are arguably the least funny and least interesting pair in the show. The problem with making these kinds of series so serialized that you can count the amount of jokes in a 40 minute episode on one hand is that you force the viewer to care about and scrutinize your story, because you're asking them to take it more seriously. And when they're there for the story, the holes annoy them. Cadence's whole speech about love in the fight VS Chrysalis is trivialized by the fact Shining Armor immediately went back to being a chud and now suddenly has the hots for Chrysalis. Whatever happened to the rape-spawn baby also? An episode about that would've been funnier and more interesting than the last 3 eps combined.

Best part was probably the short Marionette dancing music bit, felt a lot like vintage tamers. The 7 minute exposition dump at the end soured the whole episode. Someone reminded me that a similar thing happens in Madoka Magica, which Tamers almost certainly watched around this time(See the Flawless Walpurgisnacht in the credits). As you said, Twilight/Trixie has no dynamic interaction left, Their whole rivals schtick which made them interesting in the first Twilight/trixie episode is completely gone.

Yeah I noticed the whole Madoka / Eva inspired shit going on too. I tried so hard to be interested but I just couldn't. It was just several minutes of nothing. Every time a monologue stopped and I thought things would move forward they'd just have another shot and sequence of one of them saying essentially the same thing in flowery wording for another several minutes, lmao. It's not that deep, like I still like Tamers and enjoy his work, I just also feel pretty candid about not liking these particular videos.

The best part was Nigger Bug Horse having the only dialogue that kind of sounds like something Tamers would write.

How do you have a forty minute episode of Tamers content and not a single person is called a bitch? Or so few farts? Or so few stock image gags? Or someone not going on an estranged, rambling, autistic tangent, expressed with the confidence of someone who believes their diatribe about Dollar Tree food is infallibly logical?

My feelings on this are weird. I liked the beginning, then it dragged on, then there’s the climax which I actually thought was pretty kino because I’m a sucker for the abstract (plus the music choice). Good God though I can’t help but groan whenever Flawless appears. She literally has only one personality trait and only worked as a one-off like she was meant to be. Tamers only keeps shoving her in because the bronies love her so much.

This reminds me of how to get ahead in advertising

Tamers started out making funny cartoons that had a bit of serious drama mixed in for texture, but over time the seriousness took over and is calling the shots now.
