The speedrunning community is full of autism and oddities in general (especially unbelievable amounts of rage. Pure, undistilled rage). Chibi is one of the bigger lolcows on this circuit. He is a 24 (soon to be 25)- year old "professional speedrunner" who has gained a significant amount of infamy in the speedrunning community for several well-known events. He first became known to a large majority of the YouTube community from this awkward and cringeworthy performance at SGDQ 2014.


If you guessed he's the guy in the green jacket, then you're winner. Several other facts to consider during this video:

- He didn't even know CavemanDCJ (the guy who did the speedrun).
- SGDQ 2014 was during his birthday.

- Condoms. SGDQ. It shouldn't come as a surprise that they were unused.


Usually, this wouldn't warrant a thread to the guy. He'd just become another member of the shining Hall of Cringe. But then this controversy happened:


This was a pretty huge scandal in the community and completely destroyed whatever reputation he had. A random interruption from his mother during one stream as well didn't help matters whatsoever.


His home life is actually kind of saddening, for the mother. Her husband died recently and he made her promise him that Chibi would straighten up and try to forge a life for himself, away from the computer. The fact that Chibi acts like a total asshole to his mother (regardless of whether or not he is a legal adult) is disheartening, especially when this "job" he has is part-time work at a Shell gas station.

This is when the weening and trolling start to come into play, eventually leading to wave after wave of pizzas and prank calls delivered to Chibi's household, culminating in this:


Speedrunning "career": Pretty much rekt. He's still trying to stream, but who knows how it will go considering all the drama that has occurred. Oh yeah, he also came out as "bisexual" when gay marriage was legalized in the United States, much to the disapproval of his mother.

They lifted his ban? He was banned from all GDQ events after The Caveman Incident. That's why he tried to do his own Easter marathon and showed the streamkey on stream because he's a massive autist.

According to his twitter he is. He had a mini-meltdown in early December where he said he was gonna quit streaming at the end of 2016 but was still going to AGDQ in January. Spoiler: He's still streaming.

Ok so it's 2017 now. With this new year, something needs to change. Lately streaming has not been fun for me and has been causing depression in my daily life. There are many people who are worried about my health and well-being (you know who you are) and have been giving me constant advice that has been just passing by the wayside. And what with recent events, it has been made clear that if I want to have fun and be welcomed on Twitch and its communities, there is one thing I need to do. And as much as it pains me to do so, it must be done. There comes a time where you have to cut your losses and this is the time.

I am officially done with speedrunning.

Before you ask why, let me spell it out for you. In the past few years I've been "running", there has been nothing but drama, trolling, memeing, and harassment. Yes, these were repercussions for my actions. But now, I feel like in the speedrun community, I am on the outside looking in. I don't belong anywhere. And no one wants me around. Just the other day I needed to leave a community because of pressure from people belittling it and calling it a joke just because I was a part of it. It was a shame, I liked the game, and I was starting to improve pretty fast. But as I ran the game, more and more people became upset. And it got to the point that for just being there and running the game, a shitstorm was brewing. That was my wake-up call. Something needed to change.

And lets not forget, most of my other transgressions (SGDQ 14, cheating, etc) have all been a result of being involved in speedrunning. Not to say that speedrunning caused those issues to happen, that was entirely my doing. I chose to do all of those dumb things. And now I'm paying for it. I'm banned in multiple chats because they don't want the drama of having me around. Any community I try to join does not feel comfortable having me in it. And I keep trying to get approval from people I've wronged in the past, but really, what's done is done. I can not take back what I did, it is forever etched in history. Would I? Obviously. But that's not possible, and so it's time I moved on.

With that said, I will have the main focus of my channel being causal things. Pokemon, Ace Attorney, and other console games. I want to focus on chat interaction above all, and make my channel a chill place to be. No pressure, no running, no splits, just regular gameplay. I want to go back to what made the channel great in the first place. And that was not speedrunning. I know this is a rather big change to make, and I appreciate everyone who will support the new direction I want my channel to go. But it has to happen, and it has to happen now.

Honestly I'm impressed that he has the self awareness to see how much of a joke he is. He actually had some mature realizations in there that I didn't think he was quite capable of. That being said, at the end of the day all he's going to be doing still is playing games for the internet which, speedrunning or not, is pretty degenerate. Here's hoping that he actually gets a decent fucking job or education and moves on with his life eventually.

Speedrunning isn't the reason Chibi has a thread. It was just a vehicle for his autism. I don't think there's any need to close this thread, he'll find other ways to sperg. Remember, this is the guy put on a funeral for Satoru Iwata on his stream, that was completely separate from speedrunning. Plus, he's already mused on going back on his big exit on twitter so he may run again eventually.

Some more fun stuff about Chibi! He actively seeks out and hits on girls, not sure how true this is now but before he did.

He spoke to one girl after a GDQ event who lived in Michigan with her husband and woukd say things like "I don't want to interfere with you and your husband!" when they would talk casually about games.

He talked to another girl and basically said "I don't want to take you away from your boyfriend so we should stop talking, I'm sorry." despite the fact that she never showed any interest.

I'm pretty sure he still does it now - and he ignores all the sane advice given to him.
